here's my problem,
i bought 4 reloads, H128, H180.
these are for the 29mm cases, which are also aerotech.

however, when it came to relaoding the cases, i could not get the delays to fit.

i and several others from my club had a look and it seems that the reload kits have got the delay element set up, (washer, spacer, insulator) for a 38mm casing forward closure.

so what do i do?

i have lots of 24mm reloads, and the 24 and 29 forward closures seem to have the same inner diameter measurments, so i could use the 24mm delay set up with a bit of adapting with the H reloads.

or as it's really only the delay insulator that is causing the fit problem, i could fairly easily make an insulator for the 29mm closure.

or, i could make my move into electronic altimeter based deployemnt a bit earlier and simply avoid using the delay/BP ejection. (can plug the forward closure - no probs there)

or i could look at Art Applewhites 29mm saucers etc, where i don't have to use the delay etc.

really i need advice on the first two options.

also i'm concerned about insurance issues as i will be altering the motor and if anything went wrong it could/will be because of my tampering.

Don't think that there is much point in contacting aerotech, as i'm in the UK.

The delays for the 29mm HPR cases should be the same size as the delays for the 38mm cases.

Double check your motor cases. The forward closure on the HIGH POWER 29mm motors are NOT the same as the 24mm & 29mm hobbyline cases. The H128W & H180W HIGH POWER reloads will NOT fit a hobbyline case. You must use a 29/180 HPR motor assembly for the H128 and a 29/240 motor assembly for the H180 reload.

fair point, esp as the supplier is probably selling the reload to others as well.

problem solved.
i purchased the longer 29mm cases for the motors, thinking that the 29mm forward and rear closures on the 29mm hobbyline cases would be compatable.
the threads fit etc but now i know that there is a difference - thanks for the info.

looks like i'm buying some highpower closures!

quick question, is it just the forward closure that is different or do i need to buy a rear closure as well?

Everything is different. There is nothing interchangeable between the 29/40-120 Hobbyline cases and the 29mm High Power cases.
Yes, you'll have to buy the rear closure too.

The delays and spacers, along with the insulation tube are shorter for the 29mm than the 38mm. The delay well is shallower on the 29mm forward closure. If the delay parts are for the 38mm and you try to use them in a 29mm, they will stick out about 3/16". The diameter *is* the same.

You are absolutely correct. I looked at my 29 & 38 forward closures and saw the same diameters. Never checked the depth. Looks like about an 1/8 inch or so.

Thanks for the help guys, i'm in the process of buying the closures and a spare case

And that silly little spacer thingy as well...
Still haven't had to use the one that came with my AT 29mm 240 casing.
