Actually the real geek test would be: who would post a riddle like that? :p

Thanks, Bill. My first day on the forum and I have something to post to.

I will admit (or brag) I got the answer right away. Not bad for someone with a 4 year degree from a lesser school.

Now I'll hunt down that movie quote thread and see what else I can get my fingers into.

⌠4

Okay, that was not even hard. This is better not only does it itentify
a school but it also sends a message.

Okay I will give the MIT on some credit in that they included Phyics,
Math and Chemistry.

Yeah, but in the photo attached to the original post, you don't even have to parse the equation to know that it signifies MIT. The mere presence of the equation is evidence enough. ;) I guessed it immediately, despite the fact that I have no idea how to parse the actual equation. So what kind of geek does that make me? (Don't answer that...)

What's wrong with a square root of -1?

It's an imaginary number. The last time I had to deal with imaginary numbers was when I was in school which was a long time ago. When I first looked at it my reaction was that the square root of -1 wasn't real. Then I had the forehead slapping moment when I realized what they were going for.

The creator of the T-shirt thought that
Code:
sqrt(-1)
is cooler than
Code:
i
As would have I though... :D

Wow that's cool. I managed to get that formula down to:
Code:
mI^2Vi/n

(Didn't we used to be called "nerds"?)
Big and chewy or small and hard? :p

Better a
