From my Secret Santa, I received several Goonie plan packs. (Thanks!)
While building the 57 Goon, I ran into a step I have a question about. When
I read the instructions about the placement of the "Exhaust pipes", they seem
to have them placed towards the rear of the rocket. The finished picture
shows them far forward than that. It seems to me that since they act as fins,
rearward is better. But I like the looks of them forward. Which is correct?
Anyone know? :confused::confused::confused::confused::confused::confused:

If you mount the fins forward then just add a tad of nose weight.

Not much.

I am started to get interested in the goonie thing, and have never heard of the goonie 57, so thanks for posting this thread, found a picture on excelsiorrocketry, which is where your plans must have come from - looks a cool rocket

you're welcome, glad you liked the goonies, can't wait to see them finished.

OK. Now what on earth is a goony?:confused: And I judge all goonies to be weird.:gavel:

I've built 1 Goonie, my Mercury RedGoon. It's in the "spackeling" stage now, waiting for the first of the month and a new camera:)
