I've seen a couple of times before the
Board Of Education in different places
when they are closing a school or just
not offering a shop class in a particular school
anymore they have to get rid of the shop equipment........
I have seen some deals you wouldn't believe.........

If anybody's interested,,,,,,,,,
There are 4 shop machines offered up here,,,,,,,,,,
These are 3 phase machines though,,,,,,,
but if you had to buy these machines new
I bet you wouldn't like the price tag...............

I looked at these, but I'm afraid the 3-phase requirement is a deal breaker. Sorry, I'm not trying to shoot you down. But buying old, used equipment, and then having to spend additional money to use it in a single phase environment - ie, having to buy new motors or 3-phase converters - takes the value out of it for most folks.

I found an interesting article about it, on a wood working site no less:
https://www.finewoodworking.com/workshop/qa/three-phase-machines-in-shop.aspx

But googling some of the suggested converters showed costs as high or higher than the cost of the tools. At that point, I think most folks would rather just buy a new drill press or sanding station at Sears/Lowes/Home Depot and take the risk out of it.

That said, if someone already has a 3-phase setup, then maybe there's still a bargain to be had. I could see these being a good fit in a professional cabinet shop, for example.

There is no doubt it's a score........
I've seen the Board of Ed do this before,,,
but it's usually with much newer machines......
Such a shame,,,
to bad somebody can't take them and resell them,,,
you'd have to wait for the right buyer,,,
but they are definitely worth more then they're going to go for at this auction............

I bet I'm not the only person who thought that this was some kind of "paddle" shaped rocket.

Lots of deals appear on this clearinghouse website:

https://www.interschola.com/index.php

I was alerted to this site about a year or two ago by someone on one of the rocket forums who lived far away but who saw a serious deal on a lot of 400 rocket kits that were surplus. I t was still about 100 miles away, but I had a trip in that area planned anyway, so I bid and won the item and went and picked them up. Filled the entire car (Elantra Touring - like a Matrix but larger capacity and better built).
