West Texas Thunder

Does anyone have any experience with West Texas Thunder? It is hosted by West Texas Tripoli and will be on May 1-3 this year.

I'm thinking about taking a few vacation days to go but have never been to an orgaized event bigger than my local NAR section, which is pretty small.

I sent an email to the adress listed at their site asking a lot of questions and have not heard back yet. It's still early, I only sent it last night. I'm just curious is anyone else has experience with this group and/or launch.

If ya don't get any response from the email link on the web site, you might drop a note on the club's Yahoo mailing list - it's probably monitored a lot more frequently: https://groups.yahoo.com/group/wtr_online/

And if you join, look at the message traffic in April and May of last year - it should give you an idea of how things went if no one else replies. I wound up not going last year - took one of my teams to the TARC finals in Washington, instead. I'm also hoping to not go to WTT again this year, for the same reason. Otherwise, it sounds like an interesting time in our version of the desert!

John, this is a great event. Not a big crowd because of the location (in the middle of nowhere) but it's a great group and you'll have fun.

I'm looking forward to it and hope it comes off. I haven't had a vacation in almost 2 years except for a day I took to take my wife to the airport last year.
