V-2 Decal Sets

OK, I'm about to dive into the crazy world of the V-2 decals.

I'm trying to organise all of the different patterns, pinups and rounds.

Once I get the individual decals figured out I need some feedback on how to offer them.

Most of the decals are small so I could have multiples on a sheet.

Should I offer them as all the different rounds and versions but the same scale on a sheet?

As an example, as many different versions to fit a BT-55 on one sheet, another set with BT-60, then BT-80, then a BT-101.

Or one version like the German pin-up with all different scales on one sheet.
All the different scales from BT-55 through BT-101 on one sheet

This last one is sort of the way they are now but I'm just not happy with that.

Or offer each set individually? That's a bit more work but doable.

That's kinda the way my thinking was going too but want to hear what the "public" wants before I decide.

to be different, i'd prefer the sheet with just one set on, for differing body tube sizes.
this is because i have 3 V2 of differing sizes and really like the idea of painting them to look the same.
can't think why i'd want all the different decals for just one size of BT, after all, i'd have made the decision on which V2 scheme i was going for, before i purchased the decal set.

I would like same scale on a sheet. That way I can order the scale for the two sizes I build the most.

As for the pin ups / tail art, that gets tricky because you likely only need the one for the scheme you are doing and selling one 0.5" x 0.5" Frau Der Mond isn't the best choice as a vendor.

Perhaps displaying the various tail art and roundels on the site as Special order opportunities would work. That way we'd get just what we are after and you'd not have a lot of stock that may or may not sell. A corner of the stock decal sheet could be left blank for the inclusion of the special order items.

Well, you could also do both: take the same decal images and offer them in the customer's choice of two layouts. Layout #1 would have all of the different V-2 decor schemes for a particular body tube size together in one set, and layout #2 would have one particular decor scheme, but scaled for various body tube sizes. For layout #1, the customer would have to specify the body tube size desired, while for layout #2, the customer would specify what decor scheme was desired. The customer would have to specify which layout option was being ordered.

The layout #1 option would be easy to put up on your website. All you would have to say is something like, "V-2 decals for all known color schemes, scaled for these body tube sizes - etc." The layout #2 option would be a bit more complicated to set up on the site, because you would have to list each decor scheme using its commonly accepted name (if it had one), or else named according to which historic V-2 round it was used on, and then you might also have to include thumbnails or little detail shots of certain sections of each scheme to distinguish one from another for a customer who is viewing the website. More complicated, but doable. It also requires that the customer know exactly what decor scheme is desired, and there is a much greater chance for misunderstanding there.

Offering to print decals in either of the two layouts would be a great way to demonstrate to customers that you will fill their orders with the decals that they want. But for layout #2, there MUST be clear communication about exactly which historic V-2 color scheme the customer is ordering.

Finally, another approach would be to have the layout #1 option be the standard arrangement that is set up for ordering on the website, while the layout #2 option would be described as a custom order, and require that the customer communicate with you directly via email in order to arrange for it. You would just need to insure that on the V-2 decal ordering page on the website customers could clearly see that they had this option.

Just my :2:, as some different ideas to bat around. I hope it doesn't muddy up the picture too much. But it probably will.

Gordon, How many pin ups / unit insignias are you working on? I checked your website and say the White sands pin up, Frau im Monde and the witch. I know of several others, not that I have art work available,

I think most go with a simplified role or camo pattern so you'll probably move more of the generic sets. so the special order option may be more beneficial to both sides
