My Tripoli membership card! Amazing what cleaning ones house can turn up!:D

But at least it confirms Scott as an advanced rocketry consumer.

I think it also confirms him as someone who needs to clean a bit more often...... :p

-Kevin (who also belongs in that group)

Wow - that's a bit of an antique there...

(coming from one who also falls in the group that needs to clean more often)

I found my NAR card the other day. I don't even remember joining. All I did was clean my range box. Did you ever lose anything after cleaning?

1988...pretty impressive.
And Lucerne no less.....
And Lee Piester authorized - back when you "confirmed" as opposed to "certified".

What brought you out west?

And what motor did you use...BACK THEN?

I was working for Enertek under Lee Piester, Bill Stine and Gary Rosenfield at the time in Arizona and we popped over to Lucern every now and then... I don't remember the exact motor, but I know it was a 29mm H. I have a picture of me with the rocket somewhere. I'll try to find it, scan it and post it.

I, too, had a conformation card but my wallet was stolen. It's the only thing that was in my wallet I truly regret losing:(

Not near as old as the example but it was before the certification thing started and signed by a good friend.

Why yes Bob, thank you... Now I don't have to find it and scan it!:D

Oh, and all of the ghosts had different names of Enertek employees... Do you remember which one was you? :D

29mm H?? In the pic of that Pac-Man rocket, it looks like there are four motors sticking out of it! Was it a cluster of (4) 29mm H's?

Nope, one H, 4 24mm, custom made for me by Gary, smokers... They worked great!:D

Please, enlighten me. :)

*nibbling on carrot*

Hey Doc, your rocket looks a little bit shorter in that last pic. What happened?

Funny, it flew on an I115-(?), had 2 cameras in the nose and flew to about 4000 feet. The booster crashed and we could not figure out why until I watched the footage from the movie camera. You could see for a moment as the booster flashed by the camera that the chute was out, but the front of the booster punched into the center of the parachute and came in like that.

Ouch...

I can't say I've ever seen that failure mode before. Seems like a rather extreme case of bad luck...
