I was working for Enertek under Lee Piester, Bill Stine and Gary Rosenfield at the time in Arizona and we popped over to Lucern every now and then... I don't remember the exact motor, but I know it was a 29mm H. I have a picture of me with the rocket somewhere. I'll try to find it, scan it and post it.

Not near as old as the example but it was before the certification thing started and signed by a good friend.

29mm H?? In the pic of that Pac-Man rocket, it looks like there are four motors sticking out of it! Was it a cluster of (4) 29mm H's?

Nope, one H, 4 24mm, custom made for me by Gary, smokers... They worked great!

Funny, it flew on an I115-(?), had 2 cameras in the nose and flew to about 4000 feet. The booster crashed and we could not figure out why until I watched the footage from the movie camera. You could see for a moment as the booster flashed by the camera that the chute was out, but the front of the booster punched into the center of the parachute and came in like that.

I can't say I've ever seen that failure mode before. Seems like a rather extreme case of bad luck...
