Launched a few more this afternoon. I Tried some different camera settings. I'm not too impressed with them. First up was the SEMROC Centurion staged with an A10-0 to B6-4, carrying the gum cam. I expected it to be a little too heavy for the A10/B6-4 combo and I was right. A B6-2 would have been better, but all's well that ends well. That's the Bertha's nosecone with the camera payload, btw.

Next was Kody's SEMROC Saturn 1B. We've flown it on a D12-3 and a cluster of C6-3's. Today we wanted to fly it on four B6's. I don't have a lot of B6-2's so we used two B6-2's and two B6-4's. I figured they would have near identical burn times, but you can see in the third image that two have already burned out. The fourth photo shows that the delay can spit out some serious burning bits too.

Last up was old Big Bertha again. This time I taped the gum cam on her side and dropped in a C6-5. I know it's similar to yesterday's photos, but I don't want the old girl to feel left out.

BTW, I have replaced my wallpaper. Out goes the Saturn with three C6's and in goes the same Saturn with 4 B6's. It's been rotated to look like it is heading downrange off Florida's coast. I also edited out the string that attaches the chute to the escape tower.

Great pics, Tim! I especially like the Saturn pic you chose for your wallpaper. I really need to get mine finished. There's a few details to add yet, and I don't look forward to masking the thing either.

Your Centurion staging pic reminds me of the pic I took of Jim Filler's Bertha using the same booster.

Those are some great pictures!

How did you secure the gum cam in the payload section?

Both of these flights were just to test out the camera. I plan to eventually build another Cineroc clone for it like I did for my TV downlink camera. However, it might end up getting flown more just being taped to a rocket than in the pretty Cineroc clone housing.

On the Centurion, with camera looking down, I added a payload section, cut two holes, and stuck it through. Both ends stick out of the BT-60. I only put tape on the lower end of the camera so it wouldn't interfere with access to the camera switches.

Cool! I've flown it one other time with the booster. I got this pic on that flight. Oops...wrong one. Here's the bigger image.

GREAT pic!!!!

Very nice photography, especially the Saturn!

The only thing missing was a shot of the descending rocket with an open chute...

And one of the Apollo capsule, reentering the Earth's atmosphere. ;)

How did you get those great pictures. You just have to tell me your recipe!

Yep. One taste of this recipe (if you can afford the ingredients) and you'll never go back to a regular point and shoot.

I ate bread and water for a long time while saving up for it, but the main course was worth it. :)

It's a pricey meal, but worth every bite. :D The pics that tbzep gets are the dessert. (Yum!)
