Hi all :D

I was wondering what was the best brand of primers, paints and fillers that are available in the UK? The stuff that I am using at the moment is terrible: the individual grains of filler are too large for it to fill body tube spirals properly, and the primer never dries fully, and stays a bit tacky, which clogs up any sandpaper I try to use on it (and I only ask about the paint because I guess it should be the same brand as the primer).

I would love to give my rockets a really nice finish, but my life would be far easier if I was using the right products.

Thanks :)

My choice of primer is based on cost, my local poundstore sells primer in white and grey for £1 - obviously.
it is good, sands well, and at the price is my number one choice
The filler i used is humbrol model filler, (a grey clay type filler, comes in small tubes) easy to apply, dries in under an hour and sands smooth. or if the area i'm filling is large i use a two part styrene car body filler, which is messy to work with but gives a good finish.

LOL! You have "pound stores", we have "dollar stores" and when I made a trip to Canada they had "Loonie stores"!:D

I'm sorry but that just hit me funny.

Do they have "Euro stores"?

We also have 99p stores, as you do 99cent stores (which is also what they call them in europe i guess :p)

Actually I went down Halford today to go and buy a filler to be used for close coupled joints and cardboard rolling lines that you naturally get on tubes. I have never used these products as therefore a little overwhelmed as to which was the best. Any suggestions based on past purchases? Good makes, etc?
