KLOUDBusters' AIRFest 19 is scheduled for 30-Aug-2013 through 02-Sep-2013

The AIRFest 19 web-site (clicky: https://www.kloudbusters.org/airfest/Default.aspx) is now available for pre-registration, volunteer sign-up, etc. and is packed with your "need to know" AIRFest 19 information.

We hope to see all the usual suspects in Argonia this year along with lots of new faces to enjoy this year's event. You won't find a better launch site or a higher waiver ANYWHERE east of the Rockies!

Not sure if we fall in he the "Usual Suspects" catagory yet or not but the Arizona Rocketry Team will be there with one or 4 birds to fly!

The Usual Suspects from Nebraska will be there, as well! We don't have a project, this year, so we'll be helping try to keep those upstarts from AZ in line.

Piedmont Area Rocketry Club will be there for another flight of the Solar Flare-Up. Hopefully the tube fin will remain intact this time. Looks like a M1939 this year.

I plan to fly my Darkstar Extreme on another L2200. And if things work out maybe my Kracken-Up on a M3000

I've got a trip being planned! Should be awesome!

First rocket trip to the Midwest.

Anyother California or west coast people going?

You will have a blast (pun intended)

Plan on being there with a group of Texans, not mentioning any names...lol

I'll be there. Drop by and talk to me about what you want OpenRocket to do.

Per the new TRA Research Safety Code announced this week, NAR members are now permitted to fly commercial motors at at AIRFest 19. NAR members may fly commercial motors as long as the flight is within the fliers certification level and conforms to the NAR safety code.

AIRFest 19 will still be conducted as a Tripoli Research Launch for 4 days, per the new (July 2013) TRA Research Safety Code. The AIRFest 19 web-site will be updated this weekend to reflect the changes.

Reference the TRA Research Safety Code here: Link to TRA Research Safety Code

Thanks, --Lance.

Depending on if I get asked to help with the ART motor again (after last year's demolition derby I'm not sure if they will want me back ;)) I may be there. Do I still count as a California people?

Consider yourself asked!!!

After all you have to be given the chance to redeem yourself right!

And for that reason - we shall count you as an Arizonan :cyclops:

Just registered, looks like folks are waiting until it is a bit closer, I am making plans early so I get to go!! lol

Still about 6 weeks away but Im already prepping rockets. Last year I got my level 2 and this year Im going for my 1st mile high flight

OK folks A.I.R.Fest is 33 days away and I am sure that Lance, Bob and the rest of the KLOUDBusters are bust getting everything ready for your rocket launching pleasure.

So, with that being said lets see who is flying what???

Arizona Rocketry Team (AZRT) will be there with a few Estes Rockets to include our 6" diameter Mean Machine :) , 16" diameter Mosquito :D and 20" Diameter Alpha

I'm finishing up a 54mm MD, still need to do the carbon layup over the fins. I have an L935 for it that should put it a little over 30,000. I might buy a K300 or L640 for a shakedown flight, those should put it between 27,000 and 30,000.

Still have a few details to work out but I have been busy with making my own shade since there isn't a shade tree for MILES that one can camp or just relax under.

Going to have all of the fabric netting held up and adjustable bands to anchor the corners that aren't anchored to the vehicle. Hope to tackle that part of this project next weekend. Ain't MilSurp great!! Might get another of this camo piece and make this even bigger to wrap around the back of the vehicle.

Getting quite a few rockets ready and hope to have a fun successful event. Level 1 attempt with my Mega Max, lot's of smaller rockets about ready, going shopping at the vendors for parts for my DD Heatseeker. Got a few other oddball surprises in the works.

See ya,
Rod

I am working on getting a few to bring with me as well, right now I only have 3 ready to go, better than none I guess! lol

Plans as of now are.
1. Ext. Wildman on a 76/7600 ex motor. Thinking 17k.
2. Concept 54 on a K300 if the winds allow. 15k or so.
Going to bring my 3" Darkstar also.

Any idea on what we are going do to launch these things off of???? The upper standoff is not an issue, the bottom lug/button might be a problem. We won't even talk about that upper thingy!!!!

Some of these will be headed your way, soon!

Rails shouldn't be a problem

Is that an early 80's Celica acting as the rocket stand?
