Every once in a while I come across a rare gem of a movie. I was watching The Green Mile 4 years back and got curious about one of the actors. Why he got that part. He did not quite fit the role, although he was quite good. I looked him up on IMDB and it recommended a movie he did.

The Snow Walkers.

The storyline is simple: a bush pilot is asked to bring a young sick Inuit girl to a Yellowknife hospital but the plane crashes in the Canadian tundra. As simple as that. What develops between the two characters is a bond that only two people trying to survive in that situation could experience.

I watched it online and wondered how this got by me. If you watch it, tell me what you think. Then recommend a sleeper yourself.

The Snow Walkers was a pretty good movie. We found it digging around on Netflix.

I will suggest "The Man From Earth".
It's about a college professor that tells his co-workers he is a caveman who has lived for 14,000 years and seen most of the worlds history.
I won't tell what else he claims.....don't want to spoil it!

Check out "To sleep with anger" with Danny Glover 1990..It's a Blues movie that got ignored because of his audience loving his lethal Weapon movies at the time.

Excellent! What a concept. Star Trek did it with "Requiem for Methuselah"
Only he was not Jesus. Still to see all that history. Amazing!

Are you referring to Barry Pepper, or James Cromwell? They were both in Green Mile and The Snow Walker.

Barry Pepper, if you looked up the movie you would know.
James Cromwell has a great deal of interesting subjects to watch if you care to.

One of my favorite "little known" movies is "Silver Streak" from 1976... first pairing of Gene Wilder and Richard Pryor... with Jill Clayburgh, Richard Kiel, Ray Walston, Ned Beatty, and Patrick McGoohan.

It's really funny and it has a good mystery aspect to it as well, and some adventure/action thrown in to boot... plus there's lots of beautiful scenery along the way, as Gene Wilder's character suffers through a series of misadventures, some with Richard Pryor, as he gets thrown off or falls off the train a number of times and has to make his way back aboard.

Later! OL JR :)

Loved Barry Pepper as RFK in "the Kennedys" miniseries here while back... he was VERY good!

James Cromwell has been terrific in a lot of different stuff, but I liked his performance in Star Trek: First Contact especially well...

I only just saw "the Green Mile" for the first time a few months ago... never got around to seeing it. I know this is probably heresy to say on a rocketry forum, but I only saw "October Sky" for the first time about a year ago...

Later! OL JR :)
