Hi All,

I recently won an ebay auction for a sealed Battlestar Galactica Laser Torpedo rocket (Estes #1311) from 1978.

Not wanting to open the box, I figured I would clone it :)

Both JimZ and Ye Old Rocket Plans have copies of the plans and decals. I found the scans of the decals weren't great so I re-did them in CorelDRAW. Now, just between you and me, the decals aren't 100% accurate but close enough that no one will notice - so keep it quiet.

The fins are 1.5mm plywood - a bit thinner than the original kit. The weight is about the same, so it won't be an issue. The nose cone came from Semroc.

If anyone wants, I'm happy to supply the decals I created along with the fin templates, just PM me.

Oh! I also left off the engine hook for no other reason than I've run out!

Krusty

You can see what I meant about the decals. Krusty's are a huge improvement.

Hey Fishhead, I have your photos saved in my 'Laser Torpedo' file from Rocketreviews - I used them as reference while applying the decals!!

I've posted my decals as a PDF file here - print 'actual size'

Thanks. My BSGLT is currently without decals because these turned out so bad. I'll try again with the new set.

Cool :) Let me know if you need them in a different format. The original is in CorelDRAW but can save them as DXF, JPG etc.

My (mild) upscale of the Laser Torpedo. BT-60 main tube, 29mm lower tube. I kept it true to the original, in that the lower body tube is a minimum diameter motor mount, and retained the external engine hook and retainer ring under the fins. Decals are from Stickershock, the nose cone from Semroc.

Has anyone ever made a Rocksim or Open Rocket for this one?
