I need to figure out a pull pin system for airstarting some BP D or E motors.

In the rocket''s current configuration, the central motor size is limited, and previous flights demonstrated there isn't enough take off speed to engage a G switch (like in a GWiz) to do the airstarts.

I would like to simply use a pull pin, and not rely on a G switch.

I have a Perfectflite Minitimer 3, and the instructions reference a pull pin or breakwire option, but it appears to have a G switch installed on the board
(MT3G).

Can this G switch be bypassed and a pull pin set up used?
Or would I be better off going to something else?

The G switch can be removed with just a little desoldering (use the solder wick stuff). Once it's off of there, you've got a pull-pin timer.

If your going out to buy desoldering braid especially, get a solder sucker for a few extra dollars and it will be alot easier.

Hey MaxQ,
if you don't want to mess with desoldering and screwing with the timer. My dad picked up some Xavien timers for really cheap (40% off) and im sure hed let you borrow one. He has every one in the lineup and maybe an extra of one or two. I know we have 2 XFISTs.
