It's 104 in Argonia today, that must mean that KLOUDBuster's annual two day July(7-8th) research launch is around the corner. Go to https://kloudbusters.org/ then click on "Schedule" then on the "Sweaty Balls IV" link for details.

So who's coming and what you bringing? I'm planning on bringing my modified KestreL and flying it on a CTI K300 then on a L935. I also plan on bringing macaroni salad for the cookout!

One side note, this is intended to be an adult, TRA member launch as no model rocket launch pads are to be set up and both days are operated under the TRA RSC.

YOU can never have too many igniters!

I plan on flying a 8.5 sec burn G-410 in a minimum diameter Extreme Wildman followed up with a G-985 in a minimum diameter Little Dog kit.

Someday I'll whip out the H motor again!

To be totally honest, Argonia is always fun to launch, but the SB is a hot one.
If the temps drop It will be hard for Carmen to keep me at home.

Hey Eric.
For rockets I plan to bring the following.
1. Little Dog with a 7 grain 38mm ex White knight motor.
2. Concept 54 to fly on either an AT K-135 or a CTI K-500.
Working this one up to fly on a CTI K-300 . Motor on hand.
3. My Betty rocket to fly on a 6+ grain 54mm ex White knight motor.
4. Extreme Wildman on a 75mm 5 grain ex White knight motor.
This one will be using your old Loki 6000 case.
If I get two of these flights done I will be a happy camper. Three would be nice but I don't think that will happen.
I will be helping Marty B. on his flights as well as one other commitment. Hope that one works out OK.

i got the "look" this morning followed by "we''ll talk".
This is new for me, so I am proceeding with care. (note: to self wait for her to bring it up)

Meanwhile, in the garage i have been preping my rebuilt L3 rocket(which only had a teeny zipper) I have an C713-p to fly it on. Should be a nice 6:1 lift off with a smooth/flat neutral bates burn for 4seconds with a 1 second die-off. this motor was FUN to watch the last time we flew one. (carly helped make it.)

Darkstar on some 38mm configuration...out of curative, sooo we will see what i can scrounge up...

Even with the heat we've already seen in Oklahoma I'm planning to be there. I want to fly my MIss Riley with the M1450 still loaded from LDRS last year I didn't burn after the winds kicked up. I'm taking Friday off to pack the trailer and drive up in the afternoon so I can be there to help set up.

I'm looking forward to that one, Marty. With all the craziness for me at LDRS last year, I didn't even get to see a single one of the Miss Riley rockets. Should be very cool - I love October Sky/Rocket Boys and the youthful vigor with which those guys pursued their dream.

I don't think we're looking at anything near last year's 117 for SB4, just a more seasonable 100 or so. We've had more moisture this year so the vegetation is at least green, too. 15 degrees will make a big difference, I think. I'm packing on Friday, too, and heading out early for rail cleaning and some weed whacking. I we're planning on 5PM-ish arrival. Set-up help will be much appreciated!

While I was walking about 0.49 miles one way through an expanse of wheat stubble Saturday afternoon, I was questioning the wisdom of doing so in 106F heat, although once Susan and I visually located the rocket and brought it back to the truck and we cooled down with an ice bath from the cooler, all was good again. It was hot but bearable, I guess, as opposed to the oppressive 117F last year.

Today's 95F with some breeze was much more tolerable and I was able to launch a couple more. I think I get to claim the weekend high altitude mark at 16,188' so that was cool (and on a K motor no less).

There were many memorable flights and yuck-it-up moments that will cement SB4 in everyone's memories. Seeing the thrill in Gunner's face after his first successful electronic recovery flight was pretty special, as was the flight of our canopy to 1/2 mile - that has to be some sort of record!

Thanks to all our southern brethren for coming up to share the weekend fun, and thanks for pitching in to help set-up and pick-up the tower.

Preparation for AIRFest will start to crank up soon after LDRS and it should be amazing. We'll see you all then.
