Specifically, this is an LC Deluxe. The Deluxe uses LEDs to provide continuity status for each channel, not a pizeo beeper. Also, the main deployment altitude is fixed, not programmable. Some of the version were main deploy at 400' and some at 800', both +/- 80'.

The biggest challenge using the Deluxe is drilling 4 holes in your ebay and BT so they line up with the LEDs and you can confirm status when vertical on the pad. Can also be hard to see the LEDs in the sun. But they do work great. I made many cluster and staging air-starts back in the day. I do strongly recommend flying in high current mode with two batteries, unless you are just using low current ematches for ejection.

I'm not sure what the effective ceiling for the unit is and a quick scan of the manual doesn't say. I think it is an 8-bit device, but not sure. I believe the bits are the limiting factor. We looked at using it to start a sustainer on a 100k' attempt and rejected it due to altitude limitations. I'm not sure what my highest flight with the device is, but could check my logbook.

I have the manual and can get you a copy if you want.

I have one that I have never flown, but if I do, I will stick to the base programming. I have heard it can be a bear to program.

Actually Chuck the LC is super easy as there is no programming... According the manual there is one jumper. Everything else is preset. Funny I did not even know I had it! I found it in my homebrew version of an IntelliCone.

Thanks. That was a quote from an old prefect. I might have to use it since that was the reason it was set dormant.
