Cool! Hopefully Monday will be sunnier with not much wind. Still planning to be there around 11:00.

@boatgeek - I'm curious: what's the retrieval pole? Sounds handy. ;-)
It was a paint roller extendable rod. Without a roller on the end it had a very useful hook. Kinda like this, but much longer. (At someone else's suggestion I've order a golf ball retriever. Similar concept.)

Glad you guys had fun. Kind of a crazy day around here, so I didn't try to get up there.

Should be a WAC launch on Sunday up there. I think we'll be able to have a BEMRC launch on Saturday down at the Raceway....but Sixty Acres is a nicer place to fly.

It was a good day out at 60 Acres; a few mishaps but lots of blue sky and not much wind. @DirkTheDaring I was really impressed by the range of stuff you got to fly, and thanks for finding my booster(s). Hoping to be out again this weekend, though I've realized I'm getting a little low on fuel.

I had a rather rocky start, but things improved for me. I loved your flights, straight and true! I like having a variety of rockets and if I'm going to schlep out to 60 Acres I'm going to carry as many as I can! Hope to see you out there again!

Great club launch this past Sunday hosted by Jim and the WAC club. Thank you Jim! Perfect blue skies and NO wind. Lots of straight flights of As through Fs. Many kids took home a new rocket, a few TARC teams practiced their skills and everyone had fun. Here's a ground view of my Estes Expedition on an E12-4 to 900':

A couple of odd things were turned in to Jim at the LCO table during the launch. One of them was clearly a DIY electronic payload that was Arduino based.

Tell me enough about it to ID it to me and I'll see how to get it back to you.

Echoing this. Fabulous day. Working on some pics and videos. Thank you , Jim and anyone else who volunteered, for the work it takes to organize this and make it happen. I don't know how you pulled off the weather, but whatever you did, I hope you can do it again! Here's a pic of random people and my Super Orbital Transport.

I posted about this on the RocketsNW list, and it apparently belongs to Anthony Claiborne. He says it’s been out there for several years! It sure doesn’t look like it.

The other electronic bit that was found is in much worse shape….but it says transolve.com BeepX on the board. It probably is just scrap, though.

From the WAC launch on the 20th. Here's a far too long video of my ASP Tall Boy (in a medium size configuration). Includes launch, on board video (AstroCam), too much slo mo and too many frame grabs.

Dang, if it had touched down a few feet further west you could have yelled “Gooooooaaaaaaaalllll!!!” Thanks for the video: it was a good day of flying with remarkably few mishaps.

Despite the WAC cancellation tomorrow (Jan 7), I think the weather might be good enough for a few (or more) launches. As long as it's not too windy a couple of use plan to be there around noon.

The more the merrier!

Hmm. I’ve been considering heading out about then too. Maybe we’ll see you there!

Yeah, looking out the window this morning at the drizzle and seeing how wet things were, I think Jim made the right call to scrub the WAC launch.

The forecast looks marginally better for next Saturday at the Raceway….but at this distance anything can happen.

Planning a launch for Monday 1/16/23. WX doesn't look great but the kids are out of school, so we will see if it works out. Should be there at 10am until noon or so.

Thanks for keeping this park on the front burner!

....interesting to see my fingers and my Checkmate (and phone and launch controller and such) as your front image for that video.... :)
