Not as good of a deal as we've seen in the past, but $3.60 per rocket isn't too bad. Good for bashing into other things as well.

Limited-time deal: Estes Viking Rocket Bulk Pack (Pack of 12) - 47776017559 https://a.co/4n9WqJe
Still a pretty good deal...AC Supply has it for $63.64 and it shows retail as $94.99.

Here's some of my Viking builds.

They all have some additional stabilizing systems that aren't evident. I like testing things on a small scale first.

Before anyone asks, the V1 didn't work. :p The other two flew very well.

Estes should have bulk packs on sale yesterday (40 percent off) but for some reason they switched to star orbiter and d motors bundle. Let see till the end of the week

It's going to be tough to beat the Amazon 55% off price of $43.17, but it's possible.

I passed up 2 or 3 other 12 packs for $11 at various HL during the big clearance (I bought 2x - one turned into various scratch-builds and other went to a rocketry lesson with my kids scout troop). At the time I realized I really only used the body tubes and would be better off putting the $11 into BT-20 tubes. However, in hindsight I should have bought them for other scout builds.

still have these, $43 Amazon. good deal if you need... not sure what I'd do with them, maybe glue the tubes around a BT101 (would all 12 fit?) make a 12/6/4 motor cluster? would look similar to Aquaris

I'd suggest a "Viking Bulk Kit scratch builds" thread. Back when Hobby Lobby had a clearance on them, I had something like that posted on the Facebook Estes group and found it really fun to see what rockets can be built from this cheap set.

There's some threads here on that. Some cool builds. I made some neat stuff with them and they're good fun to fly. Even stock builds with A8s are good cheap fun.

I picked up a bulk pack of Alphas off fleabay for <$50 shipped. The outer box was opened but none of the inner packs were.

Haven't dug in yet, but plan to soon.

On the Vikings, I kinda see it that way, too. That nose cone isn't one I'd pick out of a lineup to use, and I'd shape my own fins and make my own recovery, so I'd basically be buying expensive BT-20 in short lengths that would lead to a lot of waste.

Alphas are different. Being non-MD, they offer a multitude of options to get creative with the build and try out techniques that the Viking does not.

Thanks for sharing. I just bought another one for make and take builds.

I grabbed a bulk pack to have a source of white glassine BT-20, since my Estes tube pack was kraft. The factory card stock fins in these things are horrible, warped every which way. Maybe I can find a way to use the material for something else, but none of it is ever going to be a rocket fin.
