Hi, my name is Muhammed Enes and I am a bachelor's degree student at Istanbul Technical University in Turkey. We have a team named Vefa Aviation and we will attend ESRA's IREC competition. We don't have a member with L3 Certificate and we don't have any available in our country. Where can we find one?

Hi Muhammed,

Have you asked the ESRA people to help direct you to someone? They are pretty good about coming up with some names.
Do you need the person just for the Flyer-of-Record requirement, or are you needing someone to provide some oversight
as you work through your design & build? These are questions they will ask you.

Were you one of the teams that ran into visa challenges with the US Embassy just this past competition?

And no, we are trying to enter for the first time ever.

Once you are assigned a Spaceport Cup Project Reviewer be sure to keep that individual well informed on your design and progress.
This makes it easier for someone to step in as an F-o-R as you advance through the coming months. The Project Reviewer can help
get the F-o-R up to speed quickly.

Are you going with a COTS motor or an SRAD motor? And will you be able to get a launch in with that motor before the competition?
A COTS motor makes it a little easier to pick up an F-o-R later on.

Please start now on your visa applications for travel to the US. The US Embassy in Turkey typically requires an in-person interview as part
of the application process. We have seen the appointment schedules reach out beyond 120 days. You can go out to the Embassy's
website and see how far out appointments are. And No, they will not give you any special preference because you are a university
team going to an international competition in the US. Some of us have been down this road before with overseas teams.
