I'd opt for Coos Bay, just to increase the distance from Portland.
Not to mention Tillamook often floods during the spring.
Hope to see you and your built rockets out at a Brothers launch in 2023.

Welcome to the Forum. Greetings from Southern Nevada. I have a lot of friends in Eugene. If you golf , Bandon Dunes is near Coos Bay. Great courses. Coos bay is a nice place. I miss fishing. When we were in Idaho I fished for trout. In Michigan it was Bass. Great pictures.

Let me know next time you are flying!

This was discouraging from last line of web site below

As recently as March 2019, Portland Parks and Recreation confirmed it still does not allow the use of city park property to launch model rockets, in accordance with Parks and Rec (Title 20) City Code. If you try to use public land to fly rockets somewhere besides Portland, check with the proper authorities before you fly.

More Info,,,,

Looks like on private land, No permit is needed for up to 2nd classification builds…(smaller type)

That’s better,,,
But my to fly my big guns I would need one???
Has to do with how high they fly!!!

(NASA must be freaked!!!)

I Got it!

Thanx Barbar for not getting me fined Brutha!!!!

Certainly don’t want to rain on your parade, especially as I would be tickled pink to have a local field. However I believe Delta Park is a public park under Portland jurisdiction. If you find a place of private land with owner giving you written permission ( I am trying to find some local farmers so far without such luck), I am in and will spring for your first pack of low power motors and lunch or dinner!

As much as I want to fly, I do want to keep it legal and under the radar. Rocketeers who don’t do this not only get themselves in trouble but also generate ill will toward those who DO follow the rules.

Being a NAR member helps, as you can honestly tell the land owner you are insured.
