Can't sleep. Watching grand final of footy - Geelong Cats vs Sydney Swans. It's just a little way into the second half - I think the Cats will win, they're up by almost 60 points.
- Edit - Final score Cats 133 to Swans 52.

Rebuilding a support structure for our cat litter tray. It is outside and the old one rotted away. I have treated the new one so that won't happen for many years now.

Poured a rum and sat down to watch the AFL Grand Final. Cats over the Swans by an enormous margin. Too much of a one-sided match to be good football so went outside to do some painting.

Packing and getting ready to fly back home. I leave Orlando Florida at 3:10pm EST and arrive in Las Vegas at 5:10pm PST. To bad it's an almost 6 hour flight. It would be nice if it was only 2 hours. We need supersonic jets.
Do you have any stops? It's only 5.5 hours to get from SEA to Orlando, and we're a lot further from there than you are.

yes, both of my monitors and the Plugable hub all work with my wifes laptop.
When you power on your PC, does it make the appropriate beeps etc. so you believe it is booting up? nothing from the P.O.S.T. shows up on the monitor(s)? What is the cable type, HDMI or something else? If you don't see anything at all on the monitor before Windows begins to load, it isn't likely a windows driver issue so it points to the BIOS not outputting the video properly or the hardware is no good. If you do hear it beep, you can try hitting F2 or possibly delete a few times when you power it on to see if you can enter the BIOS and possibly wake the screen up. As long as you are using known good cables, same ones you tested it with on the laptop, it points to the settings/hardware of the PC itself.

no beeps, nothing on the monitors at all, we can hear the fan running. We are using a usb cable from the back of the pc, then directly in to the Plugable 3.0 unit (allows multiple screens), then out to 2 monitors. All of it works fine.

No beeps sounds like the PC isn't booting at all. Any chance you can connect one monitor directly to the PC for troubleshooting? Video out USB sounds very non-default. We can take this to DM if we want to go deeper down the rabbit hole...

Took my 13 year old daughter clay pigeon shooting at a friends gravel pit, she's hitting just over 50% (26 for 50 shots). Way better than last weekend when she started and got zero for the first 25 shots, 3 in the next 25 shots and 7 in the last 25 shots. She's officially ready for next weekends youth duck hunt.

Made a dozen or so bird scaring devices from bamboo stakes and a mylar space blanket. Installed them in the dark at MIL's, so I'll try and get a pic today. Hope they work - it cost me nearly $3 for the entire project.

Watched Across the Lake, 1988 film on the last 60 days of Donald Campbell starring Anthony Hopkins. Well worth a look.

Finished working the first week of contract work at the CNH Whichita plant helping them fix new machines that had part shortages or problems. Been a looong time since I worked 11 hr days. Could have today too, but we quit at noon and went to see the Thunderbirds perform at McConnell AFB here in Whichita. Never been to a air show before. Now trying to decide if we want 6 hrs of double time tomorrow. Not sure my old body can stand 10 days in a row working. CNH wants 1000 machines done by end of the quarter.

I replaced the faucet on my side of the vanity. It was leaking from the bottom of the fixture, into the vanity through the drain control rod's hole.

It had been installed without flex hoses or unions or any other way to disassemble without cutting the pipes (PVC). The same construction would have been OK in copper, as I could have heated and pulled open a soldered joint, but with glued PVC all you can do is get out the hack saw. And naturally there's a tangle of water and drain pipes splitting both services to two sinks. The other sink's faucet was installed with hose as the last leg, but not the side that needed work. It is now.

Went out to a nice garden in the mountains near Melbourne. Very nicely trimmed to within an inch of their life. Impressive. Then off for Devonshire Tea at a cafe.

Called in at our daughter's place on the way back to fix a shower that was dripping.

Finished putting a couple of coats of paint on the cat litter support structure I built yesterday.

Recently cleared an area and expanded the driveway so I have a place to park our pontoon boat for the winter without it filling up most of my 40x21' shop. Now I have room to use some of my equipment and have room to setup a 3D printer...so, I suppose I should do some research!

Mark from Stickershock did a GREAT job with the Der Red Maxine stickers for my pickup truck. I was going to put the female totenkopf on the tailgate, but SWMBO vetoed that idea. Says I can put it on a rocket, but not my daily driver. I have ALL the decals from the set, but just used four:
