I still owe some pics too. Have to do that one of these days...
No fingers in trigger guards. Not from the Alec Baldwin school of gun coaching.
Any movement on your Octane 45?I bought an Octane .45 for my new FN FNX .45 Tactical. Paperwork filed. Now we wait. After yesterdays tragedy I bought 10 P Mags for $99 from Midway before something bad happens. I'll have about 50 new in the bag. I almost bought some uppers and lowers. Think I'll wait a bit first. I'm already knee deep in ammo, but some more wouldn't hurt.
Welcome to the SilencerCo notorious backlog. At one point they were so far behind that the BOGO offered item was discontinued, and boy howdy folks were PO'd something fierce! Shamed 'em into actually providing the upgrade!Any movement on your Octane 45?
I just received word from my LGS last week that my BOGO Octane 45 arrived, paid the tax stamp on it over the weekend to get it in the hopper. Took SilencerCo longer for to deliver the BOGO unit that my first e-file took!
It’s entirely possible the shooter could have reloaded an ordinary 6.Surprised nobody has mentioned there are eight bullets in that S&W revolver barrel. Most of them are properly called "six shooters."
S&W did make the 27-8, a blued model 27 with a partial barrel lug and eight-shot cylinder. Only 100 in each barrel length. So if that doesn't reflect even more stupidity than is at first apparent, it still reflects even more stupidity than is at first apparent.
It's at my FFL. I've seen it and the Benelli SBS I bought. I'm in ATF limbo. I have a YHM Turbo 2 for 5.56 inbound to my FFL also.Any movement on your Octane 45?

Wow, that was quick!!! Very much thanks! He was quite the auto mechanic, very good and very particular... guess it's appropriate that he was carrying a "grease gun" here!

For what it's worth, I believe that's actually an M3A1, the latter simplified version. It's hard to be sure given the picture angle.
It is the A1. You can see the tab on the cover. It was still in service when I joined as a tanker in 1970.For what it's worth, I believe that's actually an M3A1, the latter simplified version. It's hard to be sure given the picture angle.

Thanks for the recommendations.
I’m pretty sure the EP9 is illegal here in CA. Here is a link to the Ruger PC Carbine I’ve been looking at. This is a “featureless” semi-automatic rifle with a 10-round magazine that can be used as-is in CA without any odd modifications to make it legal.

I’ve been curious about the mini shells. I have the adapter, but haven’t found the shells in stock when I’ve looked for them.
I picked one up over the summer when a good friend needed a helping hand. I probably never would have gone shopping for it (I already have an HK94 and a SIG MPX) but man, does it shoot nice. Really pleasant shooter and can be easily converted to accept Glock mags, which I have.I started the purchase process on the carbine I linked to in my previous post. I should be able to pick it up next week. Looking forward to trying it out!

Yeah, as an FFL I had to be careful about anything I sent to California. The easiest thing to do was simply not send anything there. I never really understood how they could threaten me legally for sending something that was legal in my state to California, but I do like to come there to visit my brother-in-law so I complied. I dropped the FFL this year after having it for more than 40 years. It was actually a kind of relief.I was looking for something fun and pleasant to shoot, and everything I read said it was pretty nice. I’m glad you can confirm that!
I’m planning to use the Glock mags too. It comes with one Ruger mag, but for additional mags, Glocks were more available and priced better (I’ve already ordered a few).
I like the takedown feature. It wasn’t a deciding factor, but it will make it more convenient to transport.
EDIT: Just wanted to add, guns like the HK94 and SIG MPX are not legal here in CA. Many semi-automatic rifles are not legal as designed here. There are lists of “features” that can’t be combined, so you end up with AR platform guns that have a “fin” or “paddle” attached to the pistol grip, or are set up to separate the lower from the upper receiver during reloads, or have a magazine that cannot be dropped for reloads. The basic design of the guns is compromised. This is a “featureless” carbine with a traditional stock, so it can be sold and used as designed. I kind of prefer traditional guns anyway.
I got a text yesterday that my S&W M19 from their performance center has arrived. I'll post a picture when I get it.

Mine is a new version. It came out recently. I have an original model 19 with a 2.5" barrel. It came into the gun store/range I was working at. The owner knew I was looking for one. He held it up and said, is this what your looking for. In his hand was an excellent M19. I have shot it once. It is a safe queen now. My first revolver as a big boy was a 4" M19. Traded it for a 1911. Wish I hadn't. It was very accurate. When I saw a new reissue on Gun Broker it took me about 30 seconds to buy it. It was a no brainer. The new one has a 3" ported barrel and has been through the Performance center. The gun store/range I have a part time job at called yesterday and said it had come in. I'll pick it up Sunday when I go in.The model 19 Combat Magnum is such a classic!

While there are beefier revolvers better suited to a steady diet of hot .357 loads, the Model 19 just looks and feels right to me -- it is the perfect intersection of size and performance. I'll never get rid of mine and I hope that your soon-to-arrive M19 gives you many years of shooting enjoyment.
