C5-3 Ejection

I launched (2) C5-3 this weekend. Examining the motors post-flight I noticed a decent amount of cap left on top of the motors. Both flights were as expected, with full laundry ejection. Should I file a cato report for these motors?

MESS report, but no. It's not uncommon and doesn't necessarily prevent the ejection charge from working.

I wouldn’t MESS report it. Everything worked as designed. Nothing says the cap needs to be obliterated.

I guess since I've been back into rockets I haven't seen but a completely obliterated cap. Hence my question.

I flew a C5-3 that did the same thing last week. It performed great, ejection charge worked fine, but there was significant paper cap left afterwards. Maybe this is a quirk of C5 motors in general.

I had a couple from the first batch that failed to eject at all, one destroyed my Semroc Mars Lander.
