I have the brick link pursuit of flight set which the moving trenh run is based on it's a neat little thing. JK Brickworks does some awesome stuff.

Also LEGO masters season 3 starts the end of May

New Galaxy Explorer is really well done. A fantastic update---it doesn't look like the original so much as it looks like the original of my memories, which is of course way better. The box front alone I'd love to buy a poster of.

Also interesting to note it's ~4x the pieces of the original but only ~3x the cost, in unadjusted dollars no less (original was ~$132 in 2022 dollars).

A LEGO thread on TRF...How cool!
LEGO is another hobby I enjoy in parallel with model rocketry.
I,m currently in the middle of a build of the R2D2 set. I'm at a point where I am DIY adding some LED lighting.

I even write a LEGO blog.

It can be found on a sidebar "My Other Blogs" on the model rocketry blog referenced below.

Cheers!

This one is my best MOC build20200512_193444.jpg...
This is a model of the South Gate (nam-dae-mun) in Seoul, Korea. The gate was part of a wall that surrounded 14th century Seoul.
I built this from deriving scale dimensions from online photos.
The toughest part was figuring out the upward curvature of the roof edges.

I remember watching Jang’s review of the Blacksmith Shop! I mostly get my fix by watching reviews and that one was actually memorable, what a great set!

Just ordered the Medieval Blacksmith shop. It's about to retire and will go great with the castle. The free forest hideout set they are offering for $150 purchases also goes great with the castle.

I just looked through the Lego website for this set and a few others. Very cool stuff.

It just cracks me up how Lego is unabashedly targeting grown-ups with these sets. There isn’t a kid to be seen in the pictures advertising many of the new sets. (I’m not knocking the strategy—it’s obviously working. We’re proof of that.)

The only thing is that the Medieval Blacksmith is on backorder, so it might be a bit before I actually get it. I normally wouldn't get another Lego set while I still had a big, unbuilt one (my Titanic, which only has the bow section done) but I went for it though because that set has been around for a few years now and I'm pretty sure it's going to retire soon. I didn't want to miss out.

That might be the first time I've ever heard that from a Lego builder/collector. Good for your (normal) discipline!

I'm definitely interested in the 90th Anniversary castle. My son and I just finished disassembling Ninjago City (one of my favorite sets to build), so we might actually have space for it. Money, too, once I inventory and sell Ninjago City.

We've all been talking, and we all agree that you should get back to work on the Titanic this week.
It's absolutely on my radar and my Lego itch wants scratching again, but I need to finish up some partially completed rockets in order to free up space on my WIP table. I'm estimating mid-July to get started on the Lego Titanic middle section.

The blacksmith shop is a lot of fun. Kids are still LEGO's prime market but the new "adult"/nostalgia are definitely going strong. Even with my stash of VIP points the castle is a hard decision. I really want it but $400 is a lot!

I got this one for my bday this year. Anybody have any tips or tricks for the build?

I have also built the Saturn V and just take it slow. I seem to remeber there were a couple tricky parts, but not bad at all. A fun build.

one of the reasons I've given up on the Technic line. a lot of $$ for a kit full of parts that don't really integrate easily with the Lego system.. Not to mention a mechanical marvel that has a lot of "cut corners".. (Thinking of the bucket wheel excavator: cool, but top heavy & doesn't quite work as planned)

Thoughts on the new Lego castle.

Lego themselves on the blacksmith shop.
