When we'd walk into a Manila mall, there were guards at the entrances with metal detector wands. The guards would touch our bags which would beep then wave us through. In the past, the mall was attacked by terrorists, and the guards did not give us a sense of security.

I find it amazing that on his cert. flight he says that he's never assembled a motor/ejection charge and delay before.
Another thing was that in the text in the video it mentions that since he flew a custom made rocket that meets L2 specs he could have loaded a qualifying motor and flown an L2 flight the same day. I wonder if anyone has done this?

It's not that uncommon. I know several people, including myself, who assembled their first motor for their level 1 cert, and then used the same rocket for level 2. Just not necessarily on the same day, but it was possible if we passed the written test.

Interesting snippet from Wikipedia: "In 2000, Chinese agents approached Michael O'Dwyer and offered him US$100M to go to China to develop the technology.[13][14] O'Dwyer refused and informed the Australian government of the approach. Nonetheless, the concept behind the weapon system generated some interest in China such that research was carried out to investigate the utility of such a weapon for use onboard naval vessels and armored vehicles, in the latter case even for the purpose of intercepting incoming anti-tank guided missiles."
