That photo is actually pretty cool when you click on it and then view it full size. I love all the detail of the igniter. If anyone wants to see what I mean, click on the photo and then click on it two more times to enlarge it. Amazing detail for a rocket that is, what, 3-4" tall?

The rocket is Chris Michielssen's "Carded Downscale Red Max MMX." I think it's only about 3" tall. It's certainly not much longer than the motor casing that was used to hold the MicroMaxx launch rod.

The MicroMaxx launch rod adapter is pretty cool. It's made from a used motor casing, a launch lug, and a piece of piano wire. It slides over a standard 1/8" rod. I think it was invented by Jim Flis, but I first saw it when Brian Coyle used it at our ROCK launches. I'm always impressed by simple ideas like that which work well.

I had the camera very close to the launch pad for that photo. I have a remote shutter cable for the camera so I was able to stand a few feet back. You don't want to be too close to that mighty 1/8A motor when it roars to life!

Normally, I adjust the contrast of photos before I upload them. I'm not sure why I didn't do it for that one. It would look better if the rocket weren't so dark.

Here's an impressive pyramid launch. I don't know who to credit it to...prehaps a BMS ad? Apologies if I got it wrong. I saved it just because it's cool.

Absolutely the prettiest saucer launch photo that I have ever seen. I just gaze at this and sigh as if I was a young girl contemplating a photo of her favorite TV star in a fan magazine. I don't know who took it. The photo is from the Art Applewhite Rockets site, and the rocket is one of his saucers. The caption says, "[FONT=Helvetica, Arial, sans-serif]18" Delta Flying Saucer on an I220 Experimental motor"[/FONT]

Oh, I am such a sucker for cluster liftoff shots that clearly depict multiple jets. I could gaze that that picture all day. Is it me or do the individual jets show up much more easily in black powder clusters? In the composite cluster photos that I have seen they all tend to merge together into one big plume.

Well, they certainly light easier.

1st = 12 D12-0's gap-staged to 3 D12-3's. They all lit!
2nd = Priority Mail (WOOSH contest to make a cheapo rocket from everyday stuff.)
3rd = This is the (square) box Wildman used to ship my 98 / 15360 Rouse Tech case to me. And the wrapping paper used when it was under the tree.

I love the Stormcaster!

Have to say,you get a lot of bang for the buck with the Stormcaster.That was my first 24mm rocket. Just wish ya got 3 fin decals instead of 2 of the Stormcaster guy/wizard.

Privet! I didn't know you had model rocketry in Russia. Outstanding! I'm not familiar with your motor designation, I've never heard of a 10mm motor. Are they made there?

This rocket was built for my sister-in-law. She works with post-op breast cancer patients and is one of my favorite people in the world. I told her I would build a rocket for her.

The motor is a CTI K454 Skid. It went 4200 feet and recovered in some weeds. I will be flying it again at MWP in October (Breast Cancer Awareness Month)
