Motors...

Added the A3-2T and A3-6T.
Hmmmmmmm….something’s not right here. First of all, we’ve been told for years there’s not enough room in the case for a six-second delay with today’s black powder formulation. Second, the -2, -4 and -6 can’t all weigh exactly the same. Third….all three are listed as single stage motors and with the same max liftoff weight.

Not all of these things can be correct.

I hope the Star Orbiter fins bit in the catalog is just an artwork error rather than a redesign of the Star Orbiter into a Vapor (fins and motor mount changes).

The Athena has been illogically cheaper than an Alpha III ever since the Athena debuted (something like 12 years or so ago, I think).

Good topics for someone from Estes to answer - maybe during vNARCON? 😁

This may have something to do with Estes providing motors for the Internats held in Texas next year.

Nothing really grabbed my attention. No new Pro Series unless the Star Orbiter with the wrong fins is new :)

Just got a chance to peruse the 2022 catalogue and damn...there are a few I need. Yes, need. BOSS and SOT for starters and I'll and the Mars Longship and Citation Patriot because.

Just picked up the Nasa SLS model,,for the desk. Don't think I will every fly it, but it's a very nice static display with pretty good detail.

I actually built a 29mm Vapor using the motor mount and rings from a Star Orbiter kit. It needed bigger fins or more nose weight. I went half and half with both. After the lower tube had a blow out on the first flight I rebuilt it and just stuck with the 24mm mount and "stock" size fins. There wasn't much a difference really between the 24mm E12 and a 29mm F15 and E12s are easy to come by.

Anyway, point is that if those fins are not some type of "typo" I hope they made them larger.

John Boren commented on the catalog thread over at YORF - there has been no changes to the Star Orbiter. Evidently whomever did the image composition for the 2022 catalog shot of the SO made a mistake.

Looking forward to the B.O.S.S. Loving the whole Designer's signature editions.

I got mine in the mail yesterday and it even came with a 20% off coupon. I guess it's time to get Boosted Bertha!

Estes Cyber Monday sale they sold the boosted Bertha for $10.49 and the red nova for $7.70, plus all kinds of other great deals. Picked up several things then.

Engine nacelles on the pods for sure.
NCC-xxxx decal.
Starfleet logo decal.
Maybe interior LED lighting?

Kind of looks like the USS Enterprise got speared....

So I'm assuming it's a single motor design... Looks like an excellent candidate for a 3 motor cluster.

You cut out the coolest part of the page... I want one just because Bill Simon designed it.. retro cool.
