Greetings from Western PA! I've been into rocketry since I was a kid, but have just recently come back to it more seriously, getting into mid-power and high-power rocketry. I'll be attempting my level 1 very soon! (Was supposed to be this weekend, but mother nature had other plans.)

This forum has been an incredible resource when there's things I don't know, or am not sure about, and I decided it was time to join! Happy to be here!

You'll have to wait another month, John called it off. What are you flying?

I’ll be flying a LOC-IV on an H120. I actually have a friend in Dayton, OH that offered to certify me at a launch out there, so I may look into that option as well, because it sounds like a group of them launches just about every weekend.

Welcome to the Forum. And greetings from the Las Vegas area.

Thank you all for the warm welcome! I'm so excited to be here!

Here's my aforementioned LOV-IV for anyone interested. Still needs a few things (Aeropack, Decals, vent holes, maybe some more white paint), but it's mostly done! I did one layer of tip-to-tip 6oz fiberglass on the fins, and an experimental "anti-zipper ring", which is a 1 inch wide piece of fiberglass laid up on the airframe right at the top where zippering would occur. I hadn't seen this done before, and didn't really see a reason why not, except for it being ever so slightly thicker than the surrounding area. That's the reason the paint on the fins and the air frame in the center has the look that it does.

Nice to hear your flying, I haven't been out with Rob and the guys for some time. Hopefully I'll get to Grove city this year. Joe

That combo should get you your cert.

Hey,how goes it?My name's George and I'm located in NorthEastern Pa, in the Northern part of the Wyoming Valley.Like you I'm coming back to it after a very long hiatus, but unfortunately over that time the flying spots I had have virtually disappeared. So I'm more or less left to traveling, mostly out of state. But seeing as how I don't drive it 's gotten very difficult. So I've spent the majority of the last 3 and a half just building, strictly low power, can't afford anything bigger.
