We're looking for a few more people to volunteer to help -- We have some open slots still to fill and I'm hoping some of you would like to pitch in to make this MWP awesome. If so, here's the link to see what's still in need of your assistance: Midwest Power Volunteer Sign Up

Midwest Power absolutely cannot run smoothly without the help of volunteers to run the launch. Please please consider volunteering a portion of your time to help us have a smooth event it means a better launch for everyone.

Signup page has LCO and Pad Managers from 3 to 5 but no RSO during the same time period. Last RSO slot is 1 to 3. Is that an oversight or is the form not propagating fully?

I'm refreshing the weather every 12 hours at this point.....

Friday might need some smaller motors for lower flights.
Saturday I'm hoping the cloud deck is high.
Sunday is looking like it might be the high altitude day. Hope so, I want to burn an L and an M!!

Is anyone going to MWP that has a Missileworks USB IO transfer unit as well as the software programming needed to program the RRC3, that would be willing to let me program an altimeter?

I have a rocket that needs a brand new RRC3 programmed, to be launched later in November (spoiler: Marvin the Martain will hopefully be flying near St. Louis in November... :) ). But the last time I tried programming a few altimeters, they seem to have browned out - Currently waiting for my spot in the repair queue with Jim at Missileworks. This is a brand new Altimeter, and has never touched my laptop or interface gear, so no concern so long as you have the software and USB interface.

I have all settings already printed out from the original program, just need to plug them in.

Based on the weather forecast, I think I will only be there Saturday.

Let me know, thanks much!

I'll be there with the USB cable and a laptop with the software. You're welcome to use both. Saturday I'll be running around a fair bit to cover several different spots, but have the LCO page me if you can't find me and you need your RRC3 configured.

Also just in case anyone need them, I'll also have the PerfectFlight and AltusMetrum cables & software with me.

So up here in Lake County IL we got a ton of rain and if it was the same in Bureau County we will likely have to park on the road due to field conditions. I would imagine we'll know more on Thursday, and it could change day by day. Stay tuned for any late-breaking news on the field conditions and parking.

At any rate I would suggest planning to bring an extra set of shoes / boots for the field so you don't track mud into your vehicle, and definitely not into the banquet Saturday.

Dont know if this is allowed here but if anyone has bought a bunch of 4F I could use a pound and would love to pick it up at Midwest Power. PM me if you are willing to sell a can.

So far the rain is going to keep us from parking in the fields.
So, the plan for MWP is to have everyone drive up 1850E from the south road, 2300N. We will make 1850E a one way road going north.
ONLY park on the East side of 1850E. Please.

ABSOLUTELY NO DRIVING IN THE FIELDS!!! NO PARKING IN ANY FARMHOUSE DRIVEWAYS!!! IF YOU DRIVE TO RECOVER YOUR ROCKET, PARK ON THE EDGE OF THE ROAD.
THANKS

I will also be there with laptop and RRC3 programming equipment so if Dave is busy, find me and I can help get you sorted. I drive a Civic with the lisc plate LOL BBQ and can likely be paged as well.

Same here.

I have several pounds of 3F for reloading but would prefer 4F for charges and I am completely out.

I just got back from the field today, Thursday. The conditions are wet and muddy. The fields have been harvested so at least there's that.

Parking on the EAST side of 1850 only. Please enter from the SOUTH end of 1850 (the 2300 end) and drive NORTH to park. Basically make 1850 a one-way and park on the right (East) side of the road. There are spots staked out for vendors and other parking. Please do not park where the stakes are or where the yellow tape is so we can have an area right by the LCO for vendor parking. (Well, unless you're a registered vendor. Then park there because we're saving you a spot!)

Here's a handy map that lays out the route (with my apologies for lifting this from FB). One more thing - if you're driving to retrieve your rocket please go North on 1850 to exit, then come back in from the South end. I promise it will make more sense when you're there ;)

I missed MWP 1, I dont think 2 had shirts. I do remember getting my balls zapped on an elec fence at pre mid west power when it was the back yard with a guy named Tim, Jackie, some little girls, two guys named chuck and a Rottweiler that loved my left leg!!!!!!!

Oh, and dont forget Brian. MWP was really his idea. Not really Tim's. Love you all, wish I was there.

3CheeseAmigos will be back, some day. You think our stuff waz crzsy back then, wait to you see the chit Elon loaned me. heeheeheee

Oh crap, Todd and Mike, sorry. The other tree of the three amigos. Gotta make more N swampgas. Gosh that was fun.

Stephen and William too. Did you ever find the Cramer Bro's rocket? That was bizzare!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Im going to try and get out saturday. I have a few of these left. No charge, BUT - you gotta know a 10 year old story collaborated by old guys from MWP past.

I know that pic is crap. MWP XV 2017, commemorative pen/light. I have 5 left in the sealed plastic. I only had 50 of these made. Not for sale.

Yes, this is the original and only batch from 2017. If you were lucky enough to get one. This is a "bullet" safety pen too. Flip the red cap around and you could stab somebody with it. Oops, did I say that? dont stab anybody with this, the ink might be piousness, :)

EDIT: I did not guess one of my daughters and two of my grandkids want the pens. Sorry, there are now spoken for.

Are the clouds going to be an issue for Saturday flying? 70-90+ % cover with low ceilings around 1000-2000 ft.

Quick update for Friday. I don't want to discourage anyone from coming out!! Just want to report the conditions. 1850 is muddy - not impassable by any means but take it slow. There are a few isolated puddles in some low parts of the field but not bad. The cloud deck is pretty low right now and there's wind. Fortunately the rain has subsided for now. If you trust the forecast there's about a 70% chance of rain through the day but my hunch is most of it will be in the AM. Just my hunch ;)

If you do make it out, bring me coffee :)

~Dave~
