Lost my FlightSketch Mini a couple weeks back when I lost my Brighton and have been trying to replace it since. Seems like their altimeters have been out if stock for a while now. Anyone have the inside scoop on when we might see them again.

What are you recommendations for other brands?

No "inside scoop", but I wouldn't hold my breath waiting on them.

The BLE module they use appears to be out of stock until sometime next spring. Compounding that, the pressure sensor and accelerometer they use seem to have been discontinued (according to DigiKey and Mouser). If so, it may be a very long time while they find replacements and get product built and verified.

So unless they have a stash of these parts sitting somewhere, they are not going to be building anymore anytime soon. But, like I said, no inside info, so it is possible they do have parts and are just waiting on an assembly house to build them, or even just waiting for a cargo ship to unload, and new stock will show up any day now.

Really depends on what capabilities you want - if you’re just looking for something simple and inexpensive to give you the apogee of an individual flight there are several alternatives. If you’re looking for downloadable flight data it’s tough to find something as cheap and easy as a FS Mini. Here’s a link to a comparison chart that could help you with your search http://rocketsetc.com/altimeter-comparison/

Edit: or this link to a thread here on TRF with an updated version of the spreadsheet https://www.rocketryforum.com/threads/altimeters-comparison-guide.121323/post-2183246

Things aren't quite as bad as it sounds... We are close to the next lot, just waiting on battery holders now. We have stock on hand for the sensors and MCU. Also, Bosch has not officially EOL'd the products yet, we are still getting shipments. There are also pin-compatible replacements in their family so long term supply still looks good.

Any chance there will be stock before the end of the year?
