Hello all, my dearest apologies.

i had emergency back surgery last week, I’m slowly getting life back to normal all things considered.
I have my father picking up the labeled packages to ship out tomorrow.
The parts box is going @CPUTommy
The traveler is going to @Wally Ferrer

with my current incapacitation I’m curious if @MikeyDSlagle would be willing to take my role, as I will be hit or miss for the next Few months.

thank you all for your patience.

Yikes, come back and see us when you're able

as someone who's had 3 back surgeries and is postponing a 4th with the aid of an implanted spinal cord stimulator, I wish you good luck sir!

I received a package I'm sure contains the Wanderer- but after a particularly difficult day working, I am not going to even open it tonight. The goodish news is my club has a launch next Saturday, so I shouldn't have a problem getting it in the air, and back on the road in just over a week. I'll see what motor(s) I might want to use, check inventory, and email our vendor if I don't have an appropriate one so I can pick it up at the launch. 😁

Sounds great!

Does anyone know if the FS Mini records the weather data at the time/location of the flight, or at the time/location of the upload to web? If the weather data is based on when it gets uploaded, then it likely did not record jbrracer's flight. The weather I uploaded is eerily similar to my local weather when I uploaded it. I want to think it is recorded along with the flight, but I truly wonder... 🤔

It does record the weather at the location you're at.

I just looked at the specs of the FlightSketch mini and there is NO way that it can tell the wind speed or temperature, or whether it’s cloudy or sunny. Probably gets the local data upon download. Just my $.02 worth.

That was a good idea @rdrown , the weather data changed, which confirms it uses current local weather data when you upload the data. So the verdict is @jbrracer did NOT get the FS to record the flight... and so save your flights all local storage at the range including the last flight of the day to have the local conditions saved with your flight data, not the conditions back home two days later...

Look at the flight sketch data of Shawn_rockets flight and jbrracers. The data, except for the weather, is identical. Jbrracer said he had trouble with the flight sketch. Maybe it didn’t record?
When you say "identical", are you being literal? Every byte of data exactly the same? If so then there is no way that could be two different flights. No two flights could ever be that that well matched. The weather questions are superfluous.

@Wally Ferrer
Awesome report.
Nice flight... and
Beautiful field!

Those blues... not much for smoke and fire but they do get the rocket moving for sure. They get better when they get bigger.

@Tobor
You're up. You ready?

I wanted to fly an E, but couldn't get a long enough delay from Ken... maybe next time..! :dontknow:
We can always add the payload section and send it dual deploy.

That's probably how to make my dream of flying it on an F79 work.

Maybe it's a good thing that I'm at the end of the flying roster...

What's the length on that F79? There's a motor block installed at the 2.75 inch mark, for the short 24mm's...

5.25", so there'd only be 2.5" hanging out the back. I'm not saying it's a GOOD idea, just a dream. A 2-grain case would only have an inch and a half or so out the back, which would be more plausible.

So like hey.......

Look what showed up at my place!

Guess the Wanderer has been watching too may Johnny Depp movies.. :p

So...
The flag...
My school mascot was Pirates
My daughter goes to same school so she is also a Pirate
Plus Louisiana is rich with Pirate history and we have several Pirate festivals.
Just thought it'd be a good token from Louisiana to tag along. Could've sent a Tabasco bottle or crawfish I suppose. 😁

I've never understood the romantic illusions that surround gangs of murdering thieves at sea. Today they use speedboats and assault rifles (or bigger stuff if they can get it). A couple of hundred years ago their ships and weapons were those of the day. The "rosy haze of time" is never rosier than when looking back pirates in the age of sail.

Such atrocities are often overlooked when robbing the rich or fighting authority is portrayed.

Many stereotypical pirates of old were previously privateers operating under the blessing of royal government. When the royals no longer needed them, their lucrative livelihood became illegal.
Immoral or not, sympathizing with someone who has been used/wronged/duped by wealthy authority is a common storybook theme.
Perhaps it began as a Robin Hood-like romance of getting even, in a time when there was little hope of moving upward in social class, and has simply endured through the ages.

Good point, regardless of rationale.
