Someone wanted a 29mm carbon tube, but I would like to sell a few rather than just one to make it worth my while obtaining the mandrel.

Are there a few of you out there that would like a 29mm Carbon tube? Also is there any particular reason for having a tube at 60” long?

By the way price will $130 at 60” long.

If they were crazy thin-wall. Like .013 Estes cardboard tube wall thickness.

And probably only 30", but 60" isn't a deal breaker.

While that might be a weird request, CF tubes of standard wall thickness are too thick for any 29mm motor.

This may be a dumb question...is it easy to cut CF tubes like this? If so, I may be interested...

True that, I may be able to get it at least 0.02” thick at the very least. I am uncertain if going really thin will make it more difficult for it to release from the mandrel after cooling down.

How does the tube wall thickness affect the motor. I’ve got 29mm ID CF tubes with 1.5mm walls (32mm OD), that fly brilliantly with 29mm motors friction fitted.

I see there is plenty that are interested, I have placed the order for the mandrel. Once the current 54mm and the 98mm I have posted are sold I will see to it in ordering more prepreg.

Thank you all for your support.

Just wanted to let everyone that posted here know that the prepreg is on it’s way. All that would be left is for the mandrel to get shipped out.

I wanted to say about the 60” long tube that I asked due to the fact that I do hand lay these tubes. My arms can reach 60”, but it is already at my limit on how far I can stretch my arms.

So I ask for those that wanted 60” in length, will you guys be okay with a smaller length? I can do up to 50”

thank you for your support everyone.

What size NC will they fit?

They should fit any nose cone with a coupler or shoulder OD of 1.14”

I looked and I realized that there are not that many nose cones available for 29mm.

Chuck will gladly print nose cones to go along with these tubes. PM him to see what he can do.

In the past you've been able to do some thinner wall stuff for me. I just want to verify that we can do a thickness of ~.013" or slightly thicker for my set?

Usually there's not this many takers and I realize I may be odd man out here.

I will attempt to try, but only after I have done everyone else’s tubes. The reason being is that I am not certain at how well the tube will release from the mandrel after cooling down.

I have never had a carbon tube ever get stuck on the mandrel so fingers crossed it will work.

I have a 5 to 1 VK and I might be able to add a tracker bay to it.

Got some news for this thread, the mandrel is on it’s way. Apologies it took long everyone, but it is a special made mandrel and covid threw off the lead times.

I’ll see if I can make the tubes as it is too hot these days and prepregs don’t work so well in the heat.

I’ll keep everyone posted.

If you do some thin versions for Watheyak do an extra one for me as well. Your 38 mm version was great.

Tha mandrel arrived today, I unfortunately won’t be able to use it because, on one end the threading is off center and also it is longer by 1.5” long. I’ll be taking it to a machine shop to get this fixed. I can not say much to the company who sent it, as they made it for me for a bargain price.

In the mean time I did get another 38mm mandrel as I like 38mm and also I wanted one extra while I manage to get the other one free from a tube that is still on there. Let me know if you’d be interested in a 38mm. I’ll be starting a new post with the 38mm details soon.
