Andrew...after reading your novel I was prepared for the worst. I think your kit looks good! If you can answer ‘yes’ to the question of “Did I do my best?” then be proud of it.
I think it turned out beautiful! GREAT job!!
As far as escape towers are concerned....I'm coating mine with a couple of coats of Bob Smith Industries 20 minute Finish Cure Epoxy. This stuff is slightly thicker than water, provides a great finish, adds very little weight and LOTS of strength to the fragile structure.
Thanks NJRick! You’re right. It’s really easy to mix up the roll pattern especially when masking because you have to think opposite. Just finished painting the fins and they seem to have turned out well.she is turning out nicely! When I got to the fins with my 1bs that was when I always got "Go Fever" and I would normally screw up one fin by reversing the roll pattern. She looks awesome!!

Question for anyone out there. In what position is the umbilical located? I see diagrams online with it at POS1 but it seems like it’s at POS3 in photographs. Can anyone clear this up for me?

Hey guys I’ve got a question. Is it possible to reposition a water slide decal after it has been in place for a couple days? I’ve done nothing to it other than apply it to the surface and blot it dry. I’ve decided I’m not quite happy where the vertical United States decals are located. I would like to move them downward maybe 4 or 5 mm.
No, I didn’t use any setting solution. It’s possible that I could generate replacement decals from the scan of them that I saved to my computer. However I’ve decided to not take the risk, and just leave them where they are. They’re probably ok, I’m just being too nit picky.I have been building a lot of plastic models lately...and I honestly don't know if you can do that or not. Did you use any decal setting solution on them? (micro sol or micro set) More importantly, do you have replacement decals to use in the event they tear?
All decals have been put on. There are a few that could have been positioned better but overall not bad. Decals are my least favorite part of building. The small ones can be frustrating to set in place. Touching the corner of a Kleenex to the edge of a small decal seems to work better than a Q tip. The camera targets and capsule decals were the trickiest ones for me.
How about a full size image of the complete stack? All decals have been put on. There are a few that could have been positioned better but overall not bad. The stack will be assembled soon. Getting near the end. Looking forward to launching her. No hangar queens! How about a full size image of the complete stack?
