Has anyone else had issues with the above UK vendor?

Been trying to contact them without success for several weeks regarding an order that hasn't been delivered.

Not personally, but I see there's a 'Stop. All orders suspended' post on the website. Looks like they're having problems, like so many businesses at the moment.

Brexit had made business with the UK quite difficult, plus factoring in all the COVID shutdowns. Most businesses outside of the UK have stopped shipping direct to UK customers because of the new VAT regulations for sellers.

Still no word from them however I noticed the update on the site today. Was starting to wonder if Brexit related as my wife runs an online business and the past few days have been something of a headache with DHL and international deliveries... Between this and Covid it's a nightmare trying to do business right now. Everyone was unable to adequately prepare due to everything getting left by the Government until the last minute. Typical catastrophic bungling UK Govt incompetence...

I hope they can get their issues with DHL and import sorted and get back in business soon. I've had a couple of orders in the past from them and they've been good. Also they sell Klima motors which are better IMO than Estes ones...

I've no idea on the if/why but I do recall seeing an anti EU comment accompanying one of the products for sale on that website some years back (the vendor used to include commentary alongside the pictures of products). It would indeed be a sad irony if that business is now experiencing problems as a result of Brexit.
Agree Klima make great LPR motors, the 18mm D9-5 is an old favourite.

Indeed...as many of us feared. Like other rocketeers this side of the Channel in the past I have bought stuff from Euro Space Technologies, and I was always impressed by their customer service, and occasionally directly from Klima Raketen who were also fast and efficient. I assumed that from 31/12 that might no longer be possible, and it seems I was correct.

At the end of the day, there are no problems that can't be overcome. The problem is giving people TIME to prepare and adapt... Which we didn't have, hence the mess of things. A nasty habit our govt have got into (same as perpetually changing Covid rules/restrictions issued by decree without democratic scrutiny or vote and with minimal notice...). Of course we all know the British state in all its forms could not organise a you-know-what in a brewery.

For now yes, however I'm sure when the required admin is in place we will be able to trade again. The problem is big changes without any time to prepare or adapt.

Although to be fair on a matter of historical accuracy our dear leader and his chums in the Bullingdon Club did organise a fair few you know whats in restaurants, upstairs rooms etc. The difference was that back then when they effed up everything in sight dear papa was there to pick up the bill. 😁

The person behind that particular shop is somewhat notorious in the UK rocketry scene, with many historical claims of behaviour similar to what you describe.

Hi everyone,

If I may express my opinion, the Brexiteers have caused their country quite a lot of trouble. They brought it upon themselves, and now they have to live with the consequences.

I hope that this is not off-topic for our wonderful rocketry website. I don't believe that I am being off-topic, since other people have also been discussing Brexit in this forum.

Thank you.

Stanley

Thanks, but please - let's not go there! 😅 Whatever people's views on Brexit, after 5 years (actually 50 years) of continuous arguing it's happened. Both us here in the UK and our close neighbours in the EU need to make the best of the new situation. Like these things always are, the last few months of negotiations were a poker game, and most would say the EU won 58-42. Some predicted that, some thought it would somehow go the other way. Either way, now hopefully we can clear the table and start talking, smiling and smoothing things over.

Well said Tim - and for the record yes I did vote for Brexit... Couldn't care less however whether others agree or disagree. We all have our opinions...

I believe I'm getting a refund, I had a message from WorldPay today saying as much, nothing in my account yet however it'll probably appear next few days. Still no communication however from the shop... Disappointing IMO.

Surprised to hear about there being previous here. I've had a couple orders from them in the past without issue.

Just as an update to the above, I've had a very apologetic message from the shop. Basically Brexit, arsey couriers and Covid has catastrophically buggered everything. Amazing how anyone is able to do business in this environment right now.

Glad you eventually heard back from them.

If you are having trouble try Wizard Rocketry. They are a good supplier of motors and rocket kits along with electronics and avionics. And the people are super kind there.

It's really tough, for hobbyists in the UK at the moment with the combined impact of Brexit and the ongoing pandemic. I can relate to your experience of facing delays and uncertainties when it comes to receiving orders. It's equally challenging for vendors too considering the regulations and difficulties in shipping. Lets keep our fingers crossed that things get better soon. By the way does anyone have any suggestions for suppliers of rocketry materials, within the UK or EU who have successfully navigated these changes?
There's a number of UK vendors with alot of stock - rockets and things, wizard rockets and rocket and roll

I’m in the UK , often pick up the odd rare kit from Rene at eurospace rocketry . Shipping to UK takes about a week 👍
So have this option too .

I’ve just ordered from wizard rocketry and yes they are great to deal with .
