I have literally no words. When is this scheduled to launch? I'm retired and it would be a shame to miss this. This is constructed so well, its going to work, and set the bar at a level, ill never reach... amazing just truly amazing. 💯

Planning on Saturday March 27th, 2021 at Kloudburst 29/Argonia Cup. :headspinning:

Carbon 4 of 4 done.

You know...if you get desperate there's always paint pens you can get from an arts store. I've had rather mixed results with them though.

But you'd have to be REALLY desperate IMHO.

It really depends if there is any paint-able weather in March 2021... :)

I attempted a make shift spray booth.. I strongly recommend this be an example of what not to do. 🤣🤣🤷‍♂️. Painting needs to be done in the correct temp...it was ugly..

I have watched this build, I am inspired by it. I have thought about doing a integrated tail cone on stuff like the 29mm aerotech cases. I am excited to see the data post flight vs the simulation.

I like the detail work and documentation on the process, who knew all that could go into gluing 4 fins onto a motor case.

I will be watching as the forward section takes place with the electronics and recovery gear. I have a few projects in mind that will go down this minimalist approach.

I had one more question why are you building 2 different flying L1000's, carbon fiber vs fiberglass?

A couple weeks ago I built two model rockets. Just needed to paint the fin can area. I got spray bombs warm went out side it was 30 degrees quick sprayed them and put them in basement to dry. All looks great.

The fiberglass fin can was built as minimalist as possible (but still stay in bounds of sound reasoning and safety). As seen in the build photos, the carbon one got a bit more treatment with better fillet epoxy and fiberglass fin-to-fin as well. So bottom line, IMO, one is more on the ragged edge, the other has a higher chance of success. I reckon we just need to pull the trigger next year and see what full sends result. :)

Im all in for BOTH to succeed.. but what do I know?

Question.. if this works.. is an O motor an option ?

"Priority express"

For the O-motor option, I'll be accepting donations. Donate early, donate often! 😆

There may be a M-1350 DMS option.... or perhaps a 1350 staging to a tailconed L-1000... that would be fun!
