Woke up at 3:30 this morning and couldn't get back to sleep. So, I started putting together my EggTimer Mini WiFi switch. Top of board complete. Will work on bottom later today.

Thanks Neil!

Recently returned to the hobby, and still finding my way to all the cottage industry suppliers out there.

Currently have the Estes 2232 Fin Alignment Jig, and I have a recurring issue where one fin ends up out of alignment while the others are fine (last night's install on my Sprint clone necessitated removal of one, with reinstallation in work, using another 'station' on the guide)
I bought one and have the same problem as well. Building my own out of cardboard now for different BT/Fin sizes/arrangement.

I absolutely love the Qualman fin guides, top notch quality...

This is a combination of yesterday and today (so far).

Sanded down the primer of the Astron Sprint XL on the air frame and the boat tail.

Today I sanded down the primer on “trim ring” for my LOC Precision 38-29mm adapter and added a second coat of gray primer.

Put down a second coat of white primer on the Astron Sprint and immediately ran into the dreaded leaky spray can problem...Rustoleum “Painter’s Touch”. There didn’t seem to be any problem with the primer though. We’ll see how it turns out.

Took a good look at the Sky Slash II rocket glider plans I downloaded from JimZ and it appears that the plans I printed out are exactly 1:1 scale...YES!!...but it looks like I will have to splice the plans to generate a template for the fuselage.

Also did a bit of work on the motor mount of the LOC Precision Blaster 1.9. Initially thought this bird ~might~ be able to launch on a D-12 but that’s not going to happen...the nosecone is long and relatively heavy so it looks like an E20 is going to be the minimum motor. No big deal really as I have E20’s and E30’s and fly a couple of other rockets on them. They are punchy little bastids.

Paid my invoice to Cris Erving at Eggtimer Rocketry for a pair of the new Apogee “devices” and batteries.

I primed the Lil Ivan airframe and nosecone earlier in the afternoon.

Just realized I forgot to put a launch lug on it. D’oh!!

The good news: The next can of Rustoleum primer worked just fine.

I usually buy rattlecan paint five at a time to avoid mixing paints and incompatibilty.

Opened the Bday box that arrived today.
Pterodactyl Jr and Tiny Ptero.
It’ll be a bit before I start one.
The “Go Fast“ Rocket needs completed first.

Carrying on from my earlier post...

This evening I sanded off the primer from my Semroc Lil Ivan so I could glue on the launch lug/straw I FORGOT.

First time ever.

Waiting to put some primer on my Eradicator. Began to build my Lil' Fusion and ran into issues with the nose cone. All good there, so as I am waiting for a new nose cone to finish, started building Lil' Thor. Scott really makes some awesome rockets!! Kits and parts are high quality and customer service for fusionrockets.biz is excellent!!! 🚀🚀 And by the way, Famowood CWF is the best I've ever used. So easy to sand and great filler.

Yesterday I completed assembly of the Mini but did not have time to test. Then, about 4:00 this morning I woke up and couldn't get back to sleep.... I see a pattern forming here .
Anyhoot, added battery connector to the Mini and tested.

Success!!!

I would guess many folks do a little rocketry work every few days. Maybe your work is not new thread worthy, but you might want to at least share with others.
If you feel like it, this can be a thread for that. On the arcade message board I visit they have a thread like that and it is nice.
Today I joined the forum! Been lurking around for a while now. Since I plan to do my level 1 cert at MDRA this weekend, figured I ought to jump in the pool!

I work for SHA as a highway operations technician. Sit in front of the computer, take calls, and dispatch my mobile units to help people with any kind of
problems you can imagine. When things get busy, time flies. When it's slow there's time to explore rocket stuff (today is one of those)

Went to the Tripoli Houston 002 launch at Hearne, TX, and took a bunch of pictures with my new lens (2X doubler, actually).
Got home and my buss wire had arrived in the mail so I worked on board layout for the av bay.

Worked on stuff that isn’t supposed to be on a rocket but is on the Smurf one. Like a removable pedal-powered propeller system. I’m not sure it counts so I won’t say more in here.

See the thread where I keep that stuff together. It’ll end up having almost a dozen parts. Crazy I know!
