I was chosen by LOC to receive a test model of their new 1.9" series. TTW fins, plywood centering rings, chute protector, nylon chute and kevlar shock cord. Eye bolt in the upper cr to attach the shock cord. 24mm motor mount. 12" parachute and 18" tall.20200720_135944.jpg20200720_143123.jpg20200720_145834.jpg20200720_145955.jpg

I used an old engine hook for my retention. I like the eye bolt in the centering ring.

I tried something I saw in another group for the shock cord. I tied a loop at both ends and just looped it through the eye bolt. Then attached the red shock cord to the loops and the fireproof blanket. I attached the other end to the nosecone and mad a loop about 3" from the nosecone and attached the parachute to that loop.

Looking good
Looking forward to seeing the final paint and hearing how she flys

I saw their ad in Sport Rocketry and ordered a "Photon" kit. Should be arriving soon. I'll probably add an Aeropack retainer and mini rail buttons.

For some reason I am not able to bring the 1.9 kits up on their website right now. Looks like a fun kit. Loc has got a nice stable of rockets.

The LOC ads and website say both 1.8" and 1.9." Which is it? Is the tubing the same as Aerotech's 1.9" (Cheetah, Aerreux, etc)?

Stopped by LOC on Tuesday and picked up the Photon. Looks like it's going to be a great kit. The kit comes with 1010 rail buttons so no need to add them.

I got to see the Blaster and the new RAM while I was there. Looking forward to the build.

My kit arrived yesterday. I'll get a few pictures when I get a chance.

My Blaster arrived today.

Great LOC quality as usual.

The weight of the nosecone probably means no additional ballast forward needed.

Looking forward to adding this bad boy to my LPR/MPR fleet.

Oddly, my sealed kit did not contain the usual instruction sheet. No big deal for me as I consider instructions to be more along the lines of “suggested guidelines.” LOL! I did drop the an email to let them know as n00bs might struggle a bit without the instructions.

LOC is now carrying the line of 1.9” components (airframe, couplers, centering rings and bulkheads, etc.)

I got as far as getting the kit out of the bag. Looks like it will be fun to build. Should be a good performer at my club's field. I think I'll order a couple of CTI 1 grain reloads for the maiden flight.

Yours came with the instruction sheet.

Makes me wonder if they will be selling components in this size. Might make a good way to repair my Aerotech Cheetah. I like loc tubing
