Those are great. I converted one of my mosquitos to micro engines and I think it goes just right. I'm anxious to hear how those do with the streamers. I just did mine the traditional tumble recovery but it ends up getting pretty beat up that way.

I love the V2 & Saturn. I really need to get me some MMX kits for small field flying.

Micro V-2 and Saturn V are complete. Both were sprayed with white primer, and then the V-2 was decorated with a black sharpie. I don't know if if this is a real historical V-2 scheme, but it matches an image in my daughter's "Big Book of Rockets and Spacecraft." The Saturn V was finished with decal wraps and a drag shroud on the back that keeps it stable in flight.

Excellent! Please tell us about the silver boost glider in the back on the left.

It's a fun rockets styrofoam Silver Hawk that I've had since I was a little kid. I understand it's a reproduction of a balsa version built by a legendary glider designer. I remember seeing a thread about it elsewhere in the forum.

Launch Report:

I had to brave tall grass and ants crawling all over everything (the daily storming has left the yard an absolute mess) but we finally got some micro launches in last night. No pictures as everything was rushed due to it being late in the day and trying to fly before the sun went down and the bugs.

@markschnell The Mosquito and Luna Bug flew great on Micro Maxx and successfully popped their streamers for recovery. Mosquito had some zip to it even on micro maxx. I lost track of it on the way up and only saw it on ejection when the streamer deployed. This is exactly why I added the streamers. These rockets are easily small enough to land safely without them, but the streamers really help with their visibility.

Doo-Hickey, V-2, and Micro Red Max also flew well, though I ended up having to walk into the brambles next to our property to recover the V-2.

I also attempted to fly Diminutive Deuce, but only one motor started and it tumbled to the ground with the launch rod stuck in the lug. The sideways thrust must have pitched the rocket on the rod and increased the friction on the lug to the point that the rod came out under the rocket's thrust. The rocket is okay though and we'll try it again another time.

The Saturn V and Doubles are being saved to premier at the MDRA launch on the 15th and 16th.

I flew the Saturn V and Doubles at the MDRA launch last weekend. Saturn V flew beautifully, but Doubles's second stage failed to ignite and the rocket lawn darted. Due to the muddy conditions though, Doubles survived the lawn dart intact! We'll try it again another time.

Cool! how high would you say the Saturn V goes? Does it even get to 100' or so?

Yes, this is the same Doubles that you saw the first successful flight of. All of the micro rockets shown off on this page have flown well at this point. The Diminutive Deuce is probably my favorite.
Outstanding repair work on the Double. Its great that we can make them new again. I knew you would be able to fiqure out the repair on the motor mount assembly in the Double. I agree on the Diminutive Duece being your favorite.I have to start on my Up Scales 3:1. Astro 1 and Micron. They should turn out well.

Antares JS. I was scrolling through my E-mails and saw my usual listing of The Rocketry Forum and happened to see Your Micro-builds thread. They are quite impressive!!! My Wife and BFF, Lady J live in a 1 bedroom apartment and don't have a lot of room. I love Model Rocketry and seeing Your builds has got me interested in building and Flying again. One major advantage for me is that the Miro builds, overall don't seem to go very far up which, in my case, living practically next door to Wright-Patterson Air Force Base ( yes, I am a disabled Vet) the smaller heights would keep me off of their radar screens, llterally and figuratively. BTW, Who makes that beautiful mini Ester B-G shuttle that You have in fromt, please? Thanks for the inspiration and Cheers!

Glad to be of help. Micro rockets go up a couple hundred feet at best. I actually really got into micro maxx because my club, MDRA, was shut down due to COVID for most of last year and the only place I could fly was my yard.

All the micro kits I have can be found at Erockets and Fliskits. Erockets has the micro orbital transport but it looks like they are out of stock right now.
