My gift is at least nearby its intended recipient. Should I wait on opening mine until he receives his?
As one who has yet to receive, I could say I think everyone should wait until all gifts are delivered, so we could do a big zoom meeting and open everything at once. However, I won't say that. I figure it's karma for me saying I would go along with the group if they opted to open one gift on CIJ eve 🤣 , but that doesn't account for the others who are still in transit. It was mentioned to wait until daybreak, but Papa Elf makes the rules- so whatever he says goes- I say Merry Christmas to all and I can't wait to find out what everyone got (gets?)... :christmastree:

😲
Nonsense!!!
Open your gift. Those of us who haven't received anything will live vicariously through yaw opening yours, while we wait for our gifts to arrive and simultaneously embrace the suck.

Next time dont dilly dally around and get that gift ordered/sent!! LOL

@Wally Ferrer
There are many folks that open theirs at the stroke of midnight in whatever time zone they may be in. East coasters get a jump on the rest of us in the US.
Some even see who can be first it seems. We have a neighbor across the pond who would be the first to open this year methinks.

Well I feel like I need to go OT tell you about my day and my one big frustration. I will go back to topic after my story. Someone said Papa Elf makes the rules, so if you don't like me going OT, then Tough! :D I'll make sure Santa sends you coal next Christmas :D. (Just Kidding :D). Seriously though, I do know the real Santa (his name is Jim Flis :p).

This Friday was a busy day for me. Work was a half day, and then immediately when I got home Mama Elf had lunch ready, and we ate. Then we got in the car and drove 30 - 40ish minute drive to New Columbia to attend a wedding of two of my friends. It was a very beautiful wedding and I cried manly man tears. They are going be headed to Turkey soon for missionary work.

Today was payday, so after the wedding we went to go to the bank to deposit my paycheck. Now, this is frustrating part for me. The bank I chose to bank with when I moved to central pa was Swineford (now Fulton) Bank. They decided to close down the Mifflinburg Branch last April. This was very inconvenient because the Mifflinburg branch was right next to a 1st Service Credit Union, where I could do shared branching with DCU, which is located in Massachusetts. Because of the closure, I decided to just use my DCU account for all my banking needs since I been using them for over 20 years. (DCU was who I paid for my best Credit Card, and also they gave me a car loan when no one else would). Then Covid hit, and the Mifflinburg branch was not allowed to do shared branching since there was no drive through. So I had to go to Lewisburg or Selinsgrove to deposit my paycheck... But when I went to the 1st Service in Lewisburg, they were closed to Observe July 4th... On July 3rd. This really upset me... how do they expect people to deposit paychecks on the 3rd if they don't have Direct Deposit? Use the phone to Deposit it? Well, it won't be available till Monday anyway due to the 4th being a holiday... So I decided to go to the Fulton Bank across the street from 1st Service, and deposit the money in my Swineford account... After calmed down from this frustration, then we went to Walmart and bought the pet food, and other essentials we needed, including some .22 minimag hollowpoints I needed for varmint control. After shopping, we then headed back to our home town of Penns Creek to attend our friends reception.

After the reception, we went home, let the dog out, and just rested for a half an hour before it was time again to get in the car, drove to the local gas station, and then drove the 28 miles to Mount of Blessings Camp. This week was their church camp, and we usually go the day they do their fireworks. We arrived about 6:30pm so we spent some time in my in laws trailer until 7:15, which was time to go over the tabernacle to attend the evening service. Once service ended, we stopped by the car to get our sparklers, and then walked to where the fireworks were going go off. The show started before we got there, but we didn't miss much. After the show I walked over to the owner of the pyro company that did the show. We know each other and we confirmed I will help with the firework show held at my school on welcoming night. (I been helping with that show for years). Then we left. My wife was hungry so we took the highway route instead of going through the mountain trails. We got some burger king in Lewisburg and then headed home. We got home around Midnight. Then I went to my computer, entered today's expenditures, then wrote myself a check and deposited it in my DCU account via my phone. It wont clear until Monday, but I don't plan on spending any more money until our trip next Saturday....

Now back on topic:

Now, its almost 1 am. On the 4th. I know technically I can dig into my presents... but I am going wait. Its going be hard preventing my wife from trying to open them herself =D. She really wants to open one of them. :D

See you all in the morning :D I am so sorry some of you didn't get a gift in time. I was hoping that starting the sign up mid may, and ending it May 12th would give plenty of time (3 week) for presents to arrive to their destinations.

Since it's 9:30am this side of the pond it can only mean one thing, secret santa gift!!

New Hardware! The oddball 29/100, and another 40-120!

(Having lived through the hardware shortage of '18, you can never have too many 40-120's)

Working holidays comes with being a medic. I'd rather be shooting a firework show today, but I haven't done that very much since my son was born. My wife works this evening too, but my parents are coming over and we're planning on grilling burgers and corn when I get off work, so we will have a good time.

Its 5:30am on the left coast. This is my normal wake up time, so I'm not cheating just for CIJ.
Santa sent me a most cool kit to build and a pen! The pen was in the box, did it get left there? or does SBR always send one? Hmmm mystery to be solved as well as a gift. Thanks Santa!

I have to work until 21:00 myself, but I do not hold a lot of hope for Santa to show up- I still am eager to hear what everyone else got! Please share..!

Thank you for what you do! I have two little ones myself. Hoping I can put on a little show myself today before 2 year old son goes to bed as well as keep the police away as CT just doesnt like all the “freedom” i have ready to display... lol

Happy 4th of July everyone!
Happy birthday America!
I am proud to be an American and this is one of my favorite holidays. Grilling, fireworks, swimming pool, slip-n-slide, cold beer and a cigar. For the first time 14 or so years I won't be having festivities at my place, my older brother is taking over this year. . . Whatever. The gremlin and I usually fly a rocket in the yard for everyone, not this year though  Oh well, I won't have to fell a tree or climb a tree since it usually lands in a tree, nor will I have to clean or straiten up the place before and after the festivities. . . Silver linings.
Temps in high 90s, humidity nearly as high, heat index well over 100! (Okay that part does suck, I'm an October kind of guy LOL.

Now all please rise for our national anthem...

Mike,

I will not open my gift untill you open yours !! Enjoy your brothers party.

And holy crap.....stay in the shade !

That's a nice gesture, and much appreciated, but not neccessary. Open away man. It's a little disheartening to not open one but not the end of the world. LOL I do still like seeing what everyone else gets.

I would love to.......but man I feel bad about the package, I sent out, not getting there in time !!

No need to feel bad. I do kinda pile on the drama to add guilt but it's all in good fun. . . Really it is. I harbor no ill feelings, if that was the case then I would simply quit participating.
Seriously, open your gifts.

There doesn't seem to be a whole lot of "Who's my Santa" guessing going on. 🧐

I've changed my watch & calendar to metric time. (Canada is metric) so it is only June 34th..

(The joys of being ins different time zone / measurement zone!! :D )

open them up guys!! spread the joy, brag & show off what you got!!

I remember when the Thor was a 4" kit! Sweet kit no matter what size it is!
