Folks,

The COVID-19 Virus has affected all of us in one way or another.

The cancelling of all launches is impacting many of the manufacturers/vendors which our hobby depends on.
Many of these manufacturers/vendors are small/medium size businesses without any sort of financial ability to weather a prolonged shut down of hobby rocket flying.

I am asking each of us, if possible, to place orders with these manufacturers/vendors to help keep them afloat during this challenging time.

Since April I have place multiple orders with hobbylink, sirus rocketry, loc precision, Ac supply, and apogee. If there’s any business want to suggest let me know. With all the casinos closed down for the last 6 weeks, I have saved a lot of money. Lol

Which vender gives the most shipping options to choose from on how fast you can get your items????? I like my rockets sent as fast as possible

Just received my CARE package from SMT Design for my Mach 1 Redshift 54 and Chimera 65...maybe even some parts for my Chimera BT60...

The order had been delayed due to difficulties acquiring raw materials (filament) but arrived today.

Awesome build quality.

1. 65mm Hybrid AV Bay
2. SMT fin guides (54 & 65mm)
3. Eyebolt conversion for my Red Shift’s 54mm Hybrid AV Bay (rethinking this now as the current kevlar system is lighter).
4. SMT Wiring Assistant
5. SMT Wire Assortment
6. Drill guides for AV Couplers (54 & 65mm)

Almost 60 days from order placement to receipt for reasons noted above but WELL worth the wait.

Thanks, Steve!

Can't say about shipping options, but I've been getting kits from Mach 1, Wildman and Animal Works, More Rockets, eRockets, PML, Apogee, Estes, Fliskits, Squirrel Works, MadCow, LOC Precision, Sirius, ASP, SBR, Rocketarium, NCR, Magma Mountain, Giant Leap, lots of Micro Maxx from multiple vendors, still have an order in for the whole enchilada from eggfinder, chutes from Fruity Chutes, Bama and Rocketman, a Paralite from Leading Edge, various rails and rail buttons, 1010, mini and micro, build guides and other hardware from various sources like Qualman, Rocketry Works, JonRocket and Badass Rocketry to name a few... 😄

I’m fairly new the the world of rocketry, but I have to admit, I’m hooked. I did not know there we’re so many different businesses out there just for rockets. My latest purchase is from erockets. If delivery and packaging are good it won’t be last.

Wow, you’ve been busy, Wally.

My orders have been from many of the same vendors but I missed a few from your list ( Squirrel Works, ASP, Fliskits, Sirius, SBR, Rocketman, Magma Mountain, Leading Edge).

Should my child bride make any mention of the rocketry cash outflow, I will blame you. Just saying. ;)

We all make sacrifices for the greater good...

On behalf of us vendors, we do appreciate your support. A number of us depend on educational programs and other groups like the scouts to bolster sales. Obviously, this did not hap look enough this year. The cancelation of events has also taken its toll

Something interesting is that we've been selling more MicroMaxx kits and motors than usual. Part of that is probably due to the release of some new kits, but I think more people are launching in their yards. I have been tempted to try that myself.

Wildman has just announced an upscale Andromeda, and I couldn't resist. I had already made a mockery of my annual rocketry budget, this will just have to fall under my Do Good for Society and Help Survive COVID-19 budget! Yeah, that's the ticket! While I feel fortunate I am able to do this, if anyone releases an upscale Mars Lander or Orbital Transport I'll have to scream and bang my head against the wall for restraint... o_O

10 Foot tall the upscaled Andromeda is!

Do you have rocketry “assistants” (grunt labor) who will carry this rocket to the pad and fetch it after the flight for you?

You’re really raising the bar here, Wally. Gonna have to up my game here if you’re going this big...I’ll get back to you on that.

I'll be honest, I'm doing this one because GIANT ANDROMEDA! I have not found any real reason to go L2 besides spend more money on motors. But 10 Foot tall the upscaled Andromeda is! Giant roar smoke and flames! 10 foot tall 54mm and some 3 inch shouldn't be TOO heavy... I'm sure I can persuade a friend or two to assist with the trudge to the pad- someone in the club would likely be eager to assist otherwise. (beer is a small price to pay)

Edit: My wife laughed and said "you're the one who has to figure out where you're going to keep it"...:cheers:

Did you get it with the carbon fiber fins too! I'm trying to figure out what I really NEED.

Whoa, that is a surprising but awesome offering from Wildman. Who's gonna do the first build thread?
I did order one, but would LOVE to see how someone else builds it... maybe dueling build threads? Seems biggest issue is length, I've done 3" diameter, so no worries there, but 10 feet long, nothing close to that. 😜

That's what's holding me back from ordering it.
I love everything about that kit (and the huge CF wing would look fantastic), except that I will never be able to stack it up in my house without cutting holes between floors. And that's just a bridge too far.

The Interceptor AAD-98 is a tremendous value, but I already have one of those ;-(

www.northcoastrocketry.com on the other hand, just got some of my money!

Visited the Wildman myself this morning but nothing as extremely awesome as Wally’s new thundering mega bird.

Ordered an Aerotech 54mm 852 Motor (rear closure, open front closure, and case) and the new Aerotech 29mm plugged threaded front closure.

Happy Father’s Day, Dude!

My package from LOC Precision was delivered this morning, 2x 38-29mm motor adapters one of which will become BT60 av bay and the other will be built to incorporate a kevlar shock cord...minimum diameter, right...for use with small single use MPR motors like my favorites (F50 and F67).

A package from Rocketarium was also delivered, 4 small stainless welded eyebolts with nuts and washers, BT60 bulkheads and bulkheads for BT60 couplers, an M2 shear pin starter kit and a refill kit.

Now I have the BT60 av bay coupler, internal and external BT60/coupler bulkheads, 3D printed alt sled, Li-Ion batteries, threaded rods and hardware, and the MIssileworks RRC2+. The only thing I’m waiting on at this point is the EggFinder GPS package...oops...gonna need a Lab Rat adapter for my nosecone GPS sled

Top notch service from all vendors listed in this post and they all get my recommendation.

Just ordered mine, but I stayed with the FG fins.....

Also got a package in the mail from Empire Rockets. I won 2 auctions; Nike Ajax and Ramjet. They had a shipping delay and threw in a free Alpha. They include bags of wood shavings - they say for cheap packing. I'm thinking for the die hard "do it yourself" person - a tricky job to reconstruct the pieces into your own custom nose cone....😄
I also got a package for a non-flying, rocketry themed "toy"

I got a loc precision hi-tech in the mail. Along with aeropacks 29mm motor retainer and adapter (38/29mm) from apogee, that will all be saved for a level 1 certification. Then from Sirius I have a G-80T and G-79 Mojave green for my micro mag...

Just ordered a Doorknob kit from Estes using my 25% off coupon.

Followed that order up with an order for the VanderBurn Doorknob upgrade kit from @Big_Red_Daddy.

I swear, it’s all those pictures of completed rockets that’s driving me insane...as in “I plead insanity. I’m crazy about that stuff!”

That last bit was courtesy of the Cheech and Chong “Big Bambu” album.

“Bailiff! Whack his peepee!”
