I had a couple questions and couldn't find and good videos, so here are the questions:
Do I need to epoxy anything on the coupler to the bodey tubes?
Do my fins need a fin slot on those rings that also connect to a motor?
 
To get useful answers to your questions, you need to explain what you're talking about. What rocket? What specific parts are you asking about? Show pictures, give descriptions, etc. Imagine that you're asking someone you've never met, and who knows nothing about you or what you're doing, because that's pretty much what asking a question on a forum is.

Fiberglass is always epoxied. Loc kits can get by with wood glue. Need specifics.

Im using lock cardboard/paper board, Sorry for the late reply Timbucktoo, I was finishing the motor mount.
 
Typically to glue a coupler like that, you would apply the glue (epoxy is fine) around the inside of the larger tube, and then insert the coupler. That way the extra glue will be pushed in, rather than build up on the exposed portion of the coupler which you Do Not Want. Then make sure it doesn't slide out of position while it's curing...

Thank you that sounds pretty easy I fell kinda dumbfounded I did not know that :) Anyways I was thinking its something like that again thank you!!!

If this is for a separating body section the coupler is usually glued into the aft end of the sustainer (upper) section of the body tube. The base of the coupler has a bulkhead installed just inside the end. However, this really depends on the particular configuration of your rocket. If the coupler is to permanently join two sections of body tube, then apply epoxy to both sections.

I assume that the rings that you are referring to are the centering rings for the motor mount tube? If so, then the centering rings are typically installed just in front of and behind the fin root that sits on the motor mount tube.

I figured out the fin part but thank you for that :) Also My configuration is using explosive charge plate going up, Someone told me how to do the umm coupler too But thank you for that.

On your other thread about the update to this build you mention a 3.9" LOC paper tube and coupler as well as a cluster of two G motors. In their kit instructions LOC recommends epoxy for their cardboard airframes. Other experts say there is no benefit to epoxy over wood glue for cardboard. My feeling is epoxy might be overkill, but it wouldn't hurt either. If in doubt best to follow manufacturers' recommendations. JB Weld is a high temp epoxy, other brands are cheaper.
BTW in your update video is that you voicing the dialogue? You sound very young.

Yes I am only 13 I use my dads account sometimes, sometimes he uses it. But I Like building rockets too... Yeah I use the other stuff from discount rocketry that type of epoxy which is 15 min to dry instead of 5 min.
 
JB Weld is *usually* reserved for motor mount-related stuff where its temperature-resistance is important.

I normally use wood glue for anything else involving paper or wood, although for sliding a coupler in I would stay with epoxy so it doesn't grab partway in.

I used JB Weld for motor mount that is what I was thinking.
 
I use JB weld only for the motor retainer. All my models have had either epoxy (typically BSI 30 minute) or yellow glue on their motor mounts.

It's a cost thing.. JB weld isn't cheap, for what it is, and it isn't' as runny as other epoxies.

Finished the rocket yesterday I messed up the fins 2 of them are not on a angle they are supposed to be at all I ran it in the sim and it did fine Im just fearing that it wont work
