I have given up my search. Once maybe 5+ years ago had one roll that actually stuck to a plate or bowl when you wrapped it. Could pull it and stretch it tight--wonderful! Since then have tried many brands, all I get is plastic that doesn't stay in place (and no, I don't want to waste it by wrapping it full 360 around a plate so it will stick to itself). My latest roll is regular Saran wrap--doesn't work worth a crap. Any suggestions?

Tupperware
I am usually storing plates like above. Tupperware/Rubbermaid options are pretty weak and take up a lot of space. And to be honest, if I cook a nice meal, I don't want to eat it off of plastic.

The Saran wrap of today is not like it was when I was kid...

Probably has something to do with saving the earth...

Hence, Tupperware is our choice for leftovers...

We move the food back to ceramic plates before re-heating...

Oh, I hate dirty dishes! :(

I just thought, like original Krylon, someone would know where to get the (old) real stuff.

Unfortunately Saran wrap is no longer made from saran resin or polyvinylidene chloride due to its toxicity when it is burned. The replacement plastic doesn't work as well.

I bought a roll of Kirkland Stretch-tite from Costco about 1 1/2 to 2 years ago. It's just now starting to run out.
Comes with a cutter blade. I think it's more for commercial use, like restaurants.
12 in. wide by 3000 ft. long.
Great for heating left overs in the microwave.

So instead of using the old stuff, we now have nearly indestructible plastic from Tupperware that will take millennia to decompose.

Hmm... That stuff seems to have high ratings.

Kirkland Stretch-Tite will probably be the closest.
I use this and have used “cling wrap” from commercial restaurant supplies. I went back to the Kirkland brand.

Tupperware is the old stuff - invented 1946...

Saran wrap didn't show up until 1949...

There was a segment on this last week on Cook's Country (or whatever the PBS cookingg show is now called). A lot of the cling films now have an adhesive added to helpthem stick. Press N Seal is a combination of heavier plastic film (heavier than Saran wrap) with an adhesive. Works well.

Except it leaves a very difficult to remove waxy film on the dishes.

Just wanted to circle back and say thanks for the recommendations. I did get moved into my new house and ordered a big box of Kirkland plastic wrap. Works well. Not the Saran Wrap of old, but a good option.

My associate won't let me near any type of cling wrap LOL

I had the same struggle until I switched to press and seal. Works just how you want it to.

Probably the same as Kirkland.....since its name is Stretch-tite, "Premium Plastic Food Wrap" and has the cutter blade as Kuririn mention. made by Polyvinyl Films, Inc, Sutton, Massachusetts. stated BPA and Phthalate free. It works..more expensive but cutter blade really helps. East Coast- Wegman's has it which is found in NYS, NJ and PA. Restored in faith in "Cling Free/Saran Wrap" type wraps

I first came across this type of wrap in the '70s in a lab. I've only seen it in the grocery stores the last couple of years.

I bought a roll of the Costco stuff, but haven't opened it yet because I'd previously bought several rolls of this stuff from Wallyworld.

It seems to be about as good as the old Saran Wrap when it comes to sticking to glass and some kinds of plastics. The slide cutter is a dream to use. I remember trying to rip a piece off a roll of Saran Wrap, and usually ended up with a tangled mess.

Best -- Terry
