the casings became more expensive and the demand isn't there.

too bad as I am also a fan of these. lots of fun for smaller fields. have VERY fond memories of the E25 from yester year

The D13 and D24 reloads are still there.

I just flew one yesterday, and it wasnt as fiddly as i predicted. (If you can build a delay, yiu csn build the 18/20)

I just picked up one of the 18/20 cases. I'm wondering if the delay grain can be adjusted by drilling, or should I pick up some hobby delay kits?

I will miss the single use Ds from AT. Having a high thrust motor that you can afford to lose is a great tool in the motor box.

A batch of casings were received from the vendor that were not sufficiently reliable, and we had no recourse with them, or assurance that it would not happen again. Making new molds for stronger cases would have cost more than we were willing to spend. That’s when we pulled the plug.

I just bought a Boyce Gemini Titan and the recommended motor is twin D10-5s or twin C12 QJets but it’s quite heavy so a QJet wouldn’t lift it easily. Twin 18/20 cases is too expensive and a high losing risk.

Is the casing that much different than the QJet ones? Seems like there’s still enough of a buying base to keep the single use 18mm stuff.

Arsenal's issue is that sticking two 18/20 cases in his Gemini od a latger investment than he cares for.

However, for single motor rockets, they work great!

A single reload motor isn’t bad for me but I’ve lost my fair share of 24/40’s. Down here in the south, open land is rare to come across and our usual fields still have trees a bit close for comfort for reloads. Clustered reloads is definitely not something I’d risk.

A loss is my big issue, also. A tracker in an 18mm is extra weight. I would prefer single-use. Why could it not use the Quest single-use cases?

Define "huge". Presumably Gary knows exactly how many D10s they sold and if AT decided it didn't make sense, then that's pretty definitive. Too bad, as I liked the D10 too, but don't confuse a small group of fans for a huge market.

My custom BT55 bird. At just a tick over 4oz, she rips on a D10. Even crazier on an E20!!!

While the market for 18mm single-use is most likely smaller than 24 and up, I think it’s still a huge market, particularly for kits like the Estes Redstone, Outlander, and a lot more kits they made that are too heavy for a C6 when people don’t want to invest a lot of money in a case, especially since the prices keep going up on them.

There are lots of LPR kits that need bigger MMT's, and easily done if not already built. That would be the kit manufactures fault and not Aerotech.

I’d be curious to know how many would be willing to participate in an Indiegogo campaign to help finance a new mold.

2 Q-Jet D16-4 motors will lift A LOT.

AND they are easy to ignite in clusters.

And they are so cool.

All the cool people are launching them.

The d21 is my favorite low power motor, and I absolutely would jump on this at the earliest opportunity. I only have a dozen or so left :-(

I would not cluster D10's, they are notoriously hard to ignite.

I would chip in a few for a new mold if you keep the original total impulse. Seems like all the new case designs remove propellant. .

I personally miss the B and C loads for the RMS 18/20, altough I didn't like the fact that all three reloads in a pack shared the same nozzle. This was especially true with the C4. I have always fantasized a D load using the same offset c-slot the C4 used... something like a D8 would be cool

You know I am in on the nozel, I would gladly step up for D10, D21, (and maybe baby E) cases.

Are these 18mm Aerotechs? I can't find any specs on them.
