What I did today -instead- of Rocketry.

I went on a job interview today, looks promising.

My Christmas bonus this year was getting laid off :(

Heh, I had to laugh when I read that.
Reminds me of this local comedian's album from my youth:

Wow, flashbacks! Frank was awesome! I also loved Andy Bumatai when I was growing up there from 78-82. I see he's now living in Mililani Town, where I was. Too cool that he's still doin his gig.

Yep, good times. Comedy clubs all over the place, locally and nationally. Andy even did a mainland gig, California I think. And starred in a couple of movies. But the biggest locally was Rap Reiplinger. "You wait till I tell the su-pah-vi-sah!" Heh.

I removed an older satalite dish from the side of my house. It was starting to leave a stain on the house.

Went to go take my RHCSA exam. (Red Hat Certified System Administrator)

Was told I could not take it today because I had to have a photo ID. My wallet was lost last week and I only had the Dept. of Driver Services temporary printout with me. Georgia DDS says can take up to 30 days to get new license in the mail. Bummed.

Got home and guess what was in the mail?

Yesterday, not today, I found out that the little BB-sized lump in my earlobe was a carcinoma. No big deal, apparently, it's a type that rarely spreads. But I still go to another doctor week after next for his opinion.

Best -- Terry

Cut up and split some firewood. We have a wood stove, helps to keep the heating bills down.

It's like free money or rockets :)

I've had something similar on my ear, but pinhead-sized. Hurt like the dickens and would bleed for no reason. A few squirts of freeze spray fixed everything . The freezing didn't hurt immediately, but developed into a significant "ache" within a few hours. All pain gone the next day. Good luck with yours!

I’ve had that also - apparently of all the lumps to have, that’s the one you hope it is....

Gee, I've had a lump in one lobe that answers to that description. Mine comes and goes, which probably should be read as "swells and shrinks". I figure a cyst of some sort, but I should get it checked out.

Put up shelving. Did some laundry. Picked up an Rx from CVS. While there also got some sweets at 50% off on one of the two best days to buy candy (the other is a day or two after Halloween).

Not sure if this counts here, as it is still "rocketry" related. ANd it wasn't today, it was Friday 2/14 - Sunday 2/17. My Buddy and Ky Michalson, Captain Jack McClure, Kurt Anderson and many others working to set a new speed record in a Rocket Powered Ice Dragster - the 'Arctic Arrow". Many of you here I know have already seen my facebook posts both on my SC Precision account as well as my personal account. Yeah, I still have not become very efficient with facebook......but anyway, it was an incredible weekend with my wife and these good freinds, even though the Dragster got wrecked it was a learning experience and Kurt was unharmed.

Went grocery shopping at the local Safeway, it's only a couple of days after Valentine's Day and they ALREADY have an Easter candy display up. Did they move Easter up from April to March?
Sheesh!

Went to court to pay a ticket. Slid into the rear of another car on a very wet and rainy day just before Christmas. Was going less than 5 mph when it happened, but since it involved a collision, had to personally show up to pay the fine. /sigh

Royal Aeronautical Society had a trip to the control tower and operations center for Airservices Australia. Amazing to see what goes into keeping our skies organised! About 60 people in the ops room arranging around 6% (the ops room in Brisbane controls another 5%) of the surface area of the earth for airspace . Most of the Indian ocean (out to about Mauritius), down to Antartica, and East to almost New Zealand. Control tower was interesting also, but they only control locally at Tullamarine Airport, of course.

I really wanted to fly with the Lake Winnipesaukee club today, but my daughter had a volleyball tournament. I have the rest of my life to fly rockets, and I only have three years before she’s in college.

The weather still isn't conducive for fooshing projectiles here, so I read just about every day on a multitude of subjects, including rocketry. I also played King's Quest I, the 1984 game credited as being the first text adventure to incorporate graphics. It's actually pretty difficult and the retro graphics have a strange beauty all their own. Now when will the weather clear up?
