Using acrylic car paint and primer , had a set back with the red paint, it came out splotchy and ruined the finish. I had to sand and re-prime the whole thing. Considering the set back it came out as well as I could have expected. Have a little trim painting to do and apply decals....,ay or may not clear coat.

Thanks !

This is the first kit I've built in years....seems I got a bad can of paint. In hindsight I should have never tried to use it once I saw how it was spraying. But wanted to get some color on it so I decided to give it a try. Exchanged it today for a different brand and got things straightened out as best I could considering.

It seems like we all get hit with a bad can of paint! I would love to get an air brush at some point but I’m already pushing my hobby budget [emoji6]. Some day I’ll do it but for now my kids and I make do.

Nice looking rocket! Have fun!

Finally finished it, Black Brant 111 ....not show quality but it turned out ok and I learned from it . Ordered an Estes Hi Flyer Excel for my next project.

Nice job. I think we all see the flaws in our own little masterpieces. Thing is, every model I ever made looks 100% better when I press the button and fire starts out the business end. :)

I often talk about my junior assistant engineer...here he is next to his Super Big Bertha he received for his birthday. Like many project we’ve built this winter...we are waiting for final paint.

This is the Estes kit they brought back last year with the 29mm motor mount.
