We've lost Nettie Nettie Hunsicker

Many of knew Nettie (Jeanette Keyes) Hunsicker. She's been fighting health problems for a while but her daughter posted this on Facebook just a little while ago:

There are so many people I need to call and let know but it's so hard. Last night, my mom passed away. We didnt get along all the time and the last few years have been hard. So many time we needed to apologize and we were both too hard headed and stubborn to do so. At the end of the day I still love her more than words. I am so glad she is no longer struggling or hurting. I love you mom.

A great loss for our community. Nettie was Quest costumer service when they were an independent company. She was the kind of person who made you feel like a friend after one phone call or meeting.

Thanks for letting us know Peartree. I never had the pleasure of meeting her, but I knew she was highly regarded.

Bracha used to love talking with Nettie. What should have been a twenty minute call to place a reseller order, usually turned into a forty minute conversation about grandchildren or whatever.

In spite of of her tendency to, maybe, talk a bit more than necessary on the phone, Nettie was obviously a tremendous asset to Quest and I am sure it was a great loss them when she didn't make the move.

I am not looking forward to telling Bracha this sad news.

So sad to hear this. I first met Nettie and Scott around 35 years ago, sometime in the 1980s I think. They put in an appearance at a recent NARAM (57 in Tucson?), and I'm very glad I got a chance to talk to them again after a long time.

DARS will have some special memorial activities at our club launch on January 18th. As details are finalized they will be added to our Facebook page and website. Lots of Quest models for sure. I didn't know one of her favorite models was the old Astron Sky Hook.

Our families would visit from time to time while we lived in the DFW area. This is terrible news.
