What did you do rocket wise today?

Received my second Black Friday order from Estes yesterday, and a second Christmas ornament. So of course I had to explore another COC (Christmas ornament conversion).

Looks like a BT-5 tube will fit nicely inside. I think this one will be featherweight instead of tumble recovery like the first one.

Sawed off the string loop and reattached it to the body between two fins after sanding off the paint.

BTW here's the first COC ready for launch. Added on a tail nozzle.

I put the finishing touches on my extreme 12 to make it launch ready. Launched it and my vapor today, Single stage on the extreme with a d12-3 same with vapor, then got an e12-6 out of the box and sent the vapor up with it. Awesome flights and perfect ejections. The e12 really put the vapor up!! I can not wait to get some composites flying in these models!

Reorganized my collection of parts in preparation of a relatively big BMS order due Sunday morning... only to have the Fedex estimated delivery change to Tuesday. :(

Naturally I also discovered a few things that I inadvertently ordered duplicates of...

So build duplicate rockets! (I know, duplicates are really not your style.)

I've been remiss in congratulating successful certs. In my (feeble) defense, there sure have been a lot of them lately. Congrats to you all.

Missed a delivery on Aerocon PCB switches. USPS won’t leave at door. What a pain. Gonna have to pick up from post office later this week to finish L2 build lol.

Got a nice surprise today, the Madcow AGM 33 Pike that was scheduled to be delivered in late January showed up on my door today!

I also finished up my "data sheet" for the Madcow Aerobee-Hi to start my OR file..

Installed and trimmed the cord hooks on the Aero-Hi CR and bulkhead, the threads were a little longer than needed.

I threadlocked the nuts and then "rivet tapped" the end of the threads...this pup won't come off!!!

Also ordered 2 CRs for the AGM and 1 for the Aerobee, couldn't see building either one with only 2. And the AGM with 2 sets of fins, 4 CRs makes sense to me, butted up against the top and bottom of each fin tab!

Not a bad rocket day at all!

My rough OR file is strictly no glue or paint weight yet, but I did add the third CR.
I'll work it up as the build progresses.

Finished this video from last Sunday:
Estes Partizon Rocket on a High Power Motor to 2300 feet. It's the last official Southern Arizona Rocketry Association launch of the year. I have only one mission: Fly the Estes Partizon with two cameras on an Aerotech H182R DMS motor drilled to a ten second parachute ejection delay. Expected altitude 2300 feet. 36 inch nylon parachute deployed at apogee. Light winds and temperatures in the 60's make for a perfect day. With two cameras, you get to see a lot of the scenery West of the Tucson Mountains.
