Anyone build one of these? I will be soon, just wondering what someone else's experience was with it.

Got one last year. So far I've gotten the mmt assembled but not installed...:rolleyes:
One of these day I really aught to put the fins in...

Yes! The sticker shock decals make it look awesome. I flew it in primer 2 months ago. Haven’t had the weather yet to fly it with all the paint. I added an altimeter bay, and kept the nose cone open to have room for a deployment bag. The front section was a little heavy under drogue. It’d probably work better with just head end deployment.

Just picked one up on Wednesday, impulse purchase, hey, I think that is what I am going to name it "Impulse Purchase." I am looking forward to getting it on the pad, err I mean build pile.

Anyone have the instructions and a Rocksim file for it? I await delivery and am anxious to start!

Brad Milkomeda, that looks great! How much were the sticker shock decals for this one? Anyone try using the print your own decals? Ive never used them, wondering if they hold up.

This is your first Wildman kit, isn't it? They don't come with instructions, just bunch of fiber glass parts and sometime (like with the some Jrs) a small bag full of parts. Look up some of Crazy Jim's (blackjack2564) Wildman builds to get an understanding of how to build a fiberglass rocket properly. There are also some generate instructions off of the "Download" link on the top of the Wildman page.

Please find attached my Lance Beta OpenRockSim file. I used the double dip method for attaching the big fins, as I was concerned about having too much rear weight if heavy fillets or injection methods were used.

Stickershock is running a sale again for Black Friday rockets, so it's 25% off what's on the site.

Thanks for the heads-up! I’m looking at an L3-worthy kit, and Wildman has some tempting choices. Are the tubes nice and square on his kits? I have a drill press but no easy means of squaring glass or CF tubing should that be necessary.

I would suggest you start another thread to ask this, but you will not go wrong with his kits. I have built a few of them (like 10) and they just keep flying.

The Darkstar Extreme I have flown on three different M motors. From a M840 (18,500', personal record) to an M3700 which screamed off the pad. My wife has an Extreme Wildman for her L3 and it is going together well.

Thanks, that was the guidance I was looking for. Didn’t mean to threadjack!

Yep, its my first Wildman. Thanks, Brad, for the rocksim file as well as the fiberglass references. I will check them out.

Eh part of the fun is figuring it out. Just measure all your components and you can make your own OR file. I got the SAAB. Nice kit and great pics you all got.

Actually, Wildman does provide instructions for his Punisher kit, as well as instructions for his epoxy injection fiberglass fin can method on his website, which together should answer most questions about his preferred assembly. The Lance has a set of four upper fins, but they are epoxied in a slight groove that has been CNC'ed on the payload section, so they just need external fillets.

Mine is finally done except for paint and recovery gear. All external fillets are mostly smooth... Pics to follow someday.

I flew mine about 2 months ago. In its modified form. Payload section borrowed from another 4" rocket.
