Picked one up on ebay yesterday pretty cheap actually. Was surprised no one else bid. Shrink wrap is off the box but all contents are still sealed in bags. I can't wait to build it and send skywards. Some may cringe at the thought but I do have other coldpowers still sealed as new. I still have and fly a Estes Scamp and a Vashion Valkyrie I have had since a kid. Of course I don't use RP-100 or R12.

What do you use?

Airbrush propellant or propane (not with the electric launch). I do have a filling hose set up for R134 but haven't used that yet and not sure if I will.

Get the big cans of "canned air", they'll work fine. It's technically not legal to discharge R134a into the atmosphere, but difluroethane is supposedly OK. Although it's flammable, it would be very hard to ignite with the electric launcher, even if you substituted nichrome for that funky wire that Vashon supplied.

I wish I still had my Vashon rockets... they were really cool (no pun intended). I think they all had the nozzle come loose at the joint, or the filler seals went out. I had them before I got any Estes rockets, due to the CA fire regulations it was (and still is, sadly) harder to legally fly model rockets than the Vashon rockets.

I mostly use propane with a small lanyard and it works great. I refill my small cans from a 20 pound container so flights are just penny's. One thing i found out is, if i put the cans in the freezer you get some more height. I haven't had a problem with nozzles or seals yet, but the way i look at things are, if someone built it i should be able to fix it.

If you decide to open/build it, please do me a favor... Scan the fins, and decals along with a ruler for scale, and the instructions... JimZ, and plans.rocketshoppe.com don't have it. I'll sim it up for you.

Here's the sim I did of the Coldpower Maraude (KL3)

And the Coldpower Shark (1111)
