Hi,
I'm planning to take some larger rockets to Slovakia for summer 2020 and need a 1010 rail to launch them, something like this:

Unfortunately, I'm not seeing any such product in European shops. Could someone tell me where they are sold?
Thanks,
Bill

try these guys.

The rails we use are commonly from a company called "80/20".

Don't know them at all but appear to be a German company that does extruded aluminum similar to 8020 rail.

Thanks for the replies. We are familiar with 80/20 here in the USA, but I did not realize they had overseas distributors. Unfortunately, the only European distributor is in the UK. Maytec appears to have a distributor right near my home in Slovakia. But there's no online order page, guess I'll have to call.

Turns out these can be bought on eBay. Only problem is that the American version is about 25x25mm (1"x1"), while the Euro version is 20x20 or 30x30. Only possible problem is that the slot on the 20x20 is just 6mm wide, perhaps too tight for the rail button, which has a diameter of 5.8mm (the American version has a 6.35mm (.25") slot.

items Profile 6 30x30 seems to be the standard over here (at least that's the case in Germany).

Yes, I experienced tight rail buttons in them, but the ones sold from Klima work fine if I recall correctly (haven't paid too much attention where I bought my buttons).

Reinhard

Thanks, Reinhard. Looks like we need to be careful when ordering The Klima rail buttons have a 5mm inner diameter, see https://www.raketenmodellbau-klima....ssionId=&a=article&ProdNr=8564&t=23&c=87&p=87, perhaps too loose for a 6mm slot. American rail buttons have a 5.7mm inner diameter, which may work with a 6mm slot but may be a little tight. If too tight, guess a bit of the button could be filed down. Or even better, I think I have found a German eBay seller with a rail that has an American-size 6.2mm (.25") slot, see https://www.ebay.com/itm/173991931625.

It seems that the Euro 30x30 rail can be purchased with either a 6mm or (more common) an 8mm slot. And to make things more complicated, a few sellers, like the one on Reinhard's link, have this rail with a 6.2mm slot. The 8mm slot may work with American 1515 rail buttons (inner diameter 7.8mm) but may also be tight.

Interestingly, the Klima buttons are glued on to the airframe. American buttons are screwed in.
