The most pivotal battle in the Pacific in my view. I can't wait.

I wonder is this going to be a movie that at least attempts to describe some of the history of the first battle between aircraft carriers or is it going to be all special effects and computer animation with lots of action?

I believe The Battle of Coral Sea, fought the month before, holds that distinction. Kept the eastern approaches to Australia open. “Scratch one flattop.”

As a kid I enjoyed the 1976 movie, in Sensurround. :)

As a kid I enjoyed it too as I ate up all WWII movies. Sadly, the movie has not aged well like so many others of the era. Battle of the Bulge comes to mind as one of the worst.

Hi Folks;

It looks like they are going to try to contain a lot of history in 1 movie. They are certainly including the Doolittle raid. The effects look like they might be worth the price of admission.

Interestingly the cast shows no indication of a character playing George Bush. I realize he was an insignificant player in the overall battle, and am a bit glad they are not calling him out as some pivotal player. I actually expected otherwise.

The brave man was just graduating from high school during the Battle of Midway. He didn't get in harm's way until 1943-44.

I believe that you are referring to George Gay.
